Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Comment by ellen0502 on April 18, 2013 at 8:05pm: msandi, They will probably call if getting moved to a FIT division, and they may not call if they are "close". Even if your SR does fail, and you get a call, they still have until the Wed before PIR to pass. They will be given every opportunity and all the help available to get it done. The RDCs really do want everyone to make it at this point and they will get pushed hard to do so.

Keep breathing, there is still plenty of time for them to pass!

Said he passed all his inspections and took zero hits. He got Expert on his LiveFire (him and 4 others no names) Said he usually doesn't take any hits during practice except for his neckerchief said its a b***h but he's learning LOL he's not having leg cramps found out he has shin splints but figured out a way to run without it hurting Hooyah!!! He said some of the SR's are getting set back for sailor 2 sailor contact (wrestling he didn't name names) Said their final PFA is tomorrow and he was going to pass! failure was not an option! Hooyah again. I'm one happy mom right now!!
