~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Thank you Rachel and MamaKrayKray!!! :-)
diannep - Man, IDK. All I can say is "cyberspace"...who knows? Stinks.
I get my friend request both on here and personal email...though like MKK said it can be a bit delayed through personal email. I was thinking maybe if you were not logged into the site when checking emails then the message part might not come through, but that's not the case (at least not with me - the message is there even when I am logged out of N4M's)
BTW - I mention that because if you are trying to view the site solely through your email notifications, you must be logged in to access the links.
I just stay logged into N4M's 24/7. I just bookmark it on my Droid. I view it in Desktop mode (don't like the Mobile version, too limited) so it looks just like it does on my computer.
If I happen to look at my email notifications to check PM's and such (I normally view through my browser)then I can click the link that takes me to the reply on here. If you are not logged in the email links won't work.
Thanks, ladies!
I agree with ellen, priscilla. Only 4 guests, not 5. The RDC may not realize that they no longer allow active duty/retired to attend without being on the list. If you really want to hear it from "the horse's mouth" persay, call Public Affairs and ask them. But they probably will refer you to the RTC page that states that.
Yes, I would say his RDCs are incorrect according to the rules and guidelines from the RTC.
So, yes his RDCs were incorrect? lol. I'm confused. :( Because he's telling us one thing, and the portion you copy and pasted is another.
CatMom509 I needed that scripture today. Thank you !
rachel: FTLW is actually a N4Moms veteran on here helping. Her posts were to try and find out why some were getting the info I was "friend requesting" out re: BattleStations and others weren't. She has had a sailor for almost 2 yrs now!
But, thanks for offering to help! :-)
AMEN, Lala. Prayers for all of those involved in such a horrible tragedy, and God's guidance to find the ones responsible!
Many thoughts and prayers for all those in Boston affected by these bombings. So sad that our country has been attacked again. No news who did this but whoever they are from some other country or our own I hope they are caught very soon. There is a person of interest in custody. They don't know yet if it is a victim or perpetrator. We have heard from our family members who live there and they are fine. Some of them can't get home but at least they are okay. I hope all of your families in that area are okay as well <3
Active duty personnel must also be on the list.
This is from the Family Guide on the RTCs website.
RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND CURRENTLY ENFORCES THE FOLLOWING PASS IN REVIEW GUEST POLICY:
ALL GUESTS, to include Active Duty/Retired Military Personnel and those ages 3 and older must be on the access list. Children 2 and under do not need to be on the access list.
The number of guests allowed per recruit is dependent on the number of divisions in the training group.
Less than 12 divisions within the training group: FOUR guest maximum per recruit.
13 or more divisions within the training group: THREE guest maximum per recruit.
Please coordinate with the recruit as only recruits may place names on the access list. RTC staff can neither change these names nor release the names of those on the list.
Individuals who are not on the access list will NOT be authorized admission into the drill hall. We do NOT have a designated waiting area nor do we offer a standby list.
