For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I had no idea it went from warm to cold like that. Mid 80's just to hot to soon. Gonna be in the mid 60's here in Va. by weekend I'll take that. Sweating like a pig getting my garden in. Brrr. start a fire, colorado is gorgeous we stopped at Estes Park and went to Rocky Mtn national park if my memory's right. Loved it even more then Yellowstone. Gotta take the good with the bad.

Our kids tell us on the phone or in letters where they are at and then we just keep track from there. It seems to be pretty accurate. My son told me once I'm getting a haircut tomorrow and yup it was right on track. It sorta lets you know what they might be doing day to day. Sometimes I even give him a heads up. Next week you can expect to do this...

According to the official RTC website, 5/3 has moved into 4th place on the leader board...With another graduation in 3 days, that will put us in a solid third. I think we are going to finish in first place before we all realize it. 167/68 hit 4/5 tomorrow, and a welcomed 5/1 on Thursday. I find it a little easier to deal with when weeks start before the weekend hold days.

Comment by ellen0502 on April 9, 2013 at 5:26pm: MamaKrayKray, We sat at 71 degrees yesterday until about 2pm, wind came up temp dropped 50 degrees, snowing by 5pm. It is still snowing and 16 degrees right now. I left the house in the morning in a t-shirt and flip flops.

We have a saying here you don't like the weather wait five minutes, and welcome to Colorado!!

Also glad to hear, vikiboo and marlarae that you gal's know what I'm talking about as far as cell phones in brassieres. Maybe there is a market for bra holsters....

I can totally see the thing slipping into the toilet too,lol....and marla.rae, I know all about missing 2 daughters at the same time, don't know who to pine for more, sometimes.But the show must go on!
