OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Looking at the weather screen saver up above. I can't believe it is still that cold up there. It has 24 days to warm up! Low 80's here in Virginia went from winter to summer. I'll take summer any day.

Never mind - I found the discussion regarding liberty & leaving for A school after PIR - and the answer is:  Be Flexible & Hurry Up & Wait : )  Should have known better

Hi everyone - hope everyone is doing well!  Had a full weekend & haven't been on here much.  But I did catch the VBS & cell phone tip & yes Melissa I did do that this weekend.  Very convenient!  This may have been asked already so I apologize for asking it again - when will we know if they go straight to A school after PIR ?  I know that if they are leaving Great Lakes for A school it normally happens in the wee hours of Saturday morning. But if they are put on hold, when will we find that out?

I have a friend like that too! She doesnt need a purse! Me on the other hand i would rather have a purse :)

Kelli: Probably.  PIR is held during training week 7.  They do BattleStations on 6-5, which marks the end of their training!

Melissa:  I have a friend who keeps her phone, keys, and money in her bra!  I was amazed at how much she pulled out of there!  :-)  I have never heard of a lady on here missing a SR/sailor call with her phone in the bra....unless for some reason the phone went straight to voicemail.

Comment by Melissa (14/175) on April 8, 2013 at 8:09pm

Have you guys really put your cell phone in your bra? When it goes off, especially when it vibrates, it really scares/surprises you!! Lol! I have been guilty during boot camp to carry my phone in my bra because of the lack of pockets!

Diannep thanks i think that seems right he said hell be graduating on week 7 day 5 due to hes in a push division does that seem right?

Kelli:  173/174 is most likely starting training week 4.  The best way to keep up with your SR is to ask that they date their letters and add their training week/day on that day.

yes I do check both and really do like this site; its like home. The facebook page is a closed site and people do monitor that site also. But N4Moms will always be home for me. Facebook is more light and full on fun banter; I get all my serious ?s answered here. Not to say this site isn't fun also.
