~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I haven't gotten a call today. My husband is in Div 175. If divisions are calling in number order we will probably get a phone call in the middle of the night!

Comment by proudmomma (14/176) on March 27, 2013 at 7:26pm

has anyone gotten a call from div 175 or 176 today? i dont have my cell with me. :( I will miss his call today if he does call.

Got a call today my SR said it is because they are entering a new training phase and that it was a mandatory call. He sounded much better today than when he called on Saturday and his calls always lift my spirits. He said his division 13/169 did not get a flag :( but congrats to the other divisions that did!

My daughter called home when I was out and about (12/167). She knows better than to take a chance calling my cell, cause I will not answer when I'm driving!!!! Also not when I'm in Yoga, or choir practice etc, etc. so my husband got lucky and talked to her . She said she had abit of a down day, but that everyone gets those sometimes...She needs another phone card, they cannot recharge them there. It just so happens I sent her the free 8x 20min cards I got through Navy Dads. I will buy her another prepaid, so she can share the donated ones with others who don't have call time left...

Rtarbaby i thought the same thing. And then he said he got to call cause other sailors that didn't pass test and being held back a week got to make call. I was like WHAT you are being held back a week. No, No he said just equal opportunity calling I guess. Everyone passed test in Div 168 and I believe 167. Plus did mention earned flag they scored 4.2 as a group needed a 4 to earn flag this is out of a possible 5. So good job. Sounded much better, still sick though. Said scabbie outbreak is undercontrol and no one else got it. Should get letters tomorrow, this was much better though. So vikiboo don't worry she passed.

CRAPOLA!! I just missed a call from my daughter...She's in 12/167.  I was wigging out!!  Thank Goodness for N4M!!  I had no idea why she would be calling...So, I'm guessing that its because they did well on their test!!  Hoping and Praying!!

Comment by Rtarbaby/son/12/167 on March 27, 2013 at 5:00pm

The wife says she just got off the phone with our SR.  My first thought was "oh no."  Calls during the week are suppose to be a bad thing.  He said all is well, still very happy.  They did well on their academic test and earned a flag.  RDC gave them a call for some reason or another, may have been for the flag.  Says he is getting a lot of mail, but keep it coming.  Very glad he called her.  If he only has a few minutes, I told him to always call his mom instead of me.  The calls are very special to her.  Sounds like they are doing well and working together.

Thank you all for the support and prayers. He is able to call me daily which I love, but I would take staying in bootcamp any day! He said there are 180 men in seps. He also said that half of his former unit never got mail and he has their addresses so I guess I will be doing a lot of writing to new SR's. He is also saying he can appeal it when he returns, hope he is strong enough to stick with it! He's already on Facebook...geez!
