Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I pray that God will reveal his plan for your son's life sooner than later but it will be all in HIS time. Be strong for him, he's going to need your courage and strength.

Please remember that a setback is only the preparation for a comeback. When your son come home, please give him a big group hug from me and the rest of the Navy4Moms. This too shall pass over time even though its easier said then done. My wish for you and your son is to stay forever blessed and strong!

Be strong for him, even though it is extremely hard at this point. That's what we as parents have learned to do so well. We can do anything for our children.

Joelle: I am so very sorry. I know how devastated he and you must be. He has to know it is nothing he did wrong, he did his best...but medical issues are the number one reason for separation in bootcamp. I know you can't wait to get your arms around him and he you. Just have to trust that there is another plan for him....please thank him for all of us for being willing to serve his country! Blessings to him and to you! During testing for his visit they found some other medical concerns. He is devastated as I am. I feel like my heart is breaking all over again. He was crying so hard saying he let everyone down. I feel like I became part of this awesome group of moms and loved ones and I'm losing this too. Thank you all for the past support and please pray that God's plan for him is great.
