For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Calling All Moms of SHIP 04 DIV 811
I wanted to tell you THANK YOU! Your SR's are the best in the world because they signed a "birthday card" to my son Christian who just turned 18 Apr 19. My son that is in had the entire group sign his letter. As my son said, "here is Happy Birthday from around the states"!
Around 30 something SR's signed it!
Signatures from, Kansas, Texas, Ca, New Hampshire, Florida, NC, VA, MS , MA, NYC! There are a few from each states....so almost all signed it!
I can tell by his last letters they are all starting to get close.
You moms have raised some awesome young men!
Thank you from me and my son!

Well I got a letter today and it said he woke up at 230am throwing up. he said about 10 or so were pretty sick. Later in the letter on Apr 22 he said he was finally feeling better!

Got a letter from my son today also, he turned 20 on April 13th. We are from Colorado. My son is EOD, and he said that he is feeling stronger, they are running more, and he can't wait to be done....
He said he is really excited for graduation and they are starting to prepare for it

I think those are the first two things I put in my bag!!! lol. I also liked your idea about lint brushes (last class to wear blues before summer) and tide pen for his "I don't care package". I am packing a sewing kit with an ez threader, mints and favorite cookies-any other suggestions?
If I remember, there are little fridges at the Navy Lodge, right? Can you suggest a store nearby that we can go to get a couple of other items or does the NEX carry most everything? I was thinking that it is just a convenience-type store on base.

Great idea about the sewing kit! Bob had to re-sew a few of his 13 buttons on his uniform. Funny thing. I made a comment about how his dress blues weren't blue, but black. He informed me that he tried sewing the buttons on with black thread and it was obvious his uniform was blue. This is the same guy who walked out of the house in stripes and plaids! When did he start worrying about the color of thread?
Speaking of his dress blues. I can't remember if I told ya'll this, but when we all went to the bathroom in Chicago, all the women made it out before Bob did. He was in there undoing his 13 buttons and redoing his 13 buttons! He really wanted to walk around in his dress blues, but I think his everyday uniform would have been more practical.
We stayed at the Residence Inn so I can't answer the question about the Navy Lodge. I'd call up there, because some hotels ask that you request certain amenities such as a fridge.
There is a Super Walmart close by. The NEX carries the basics, but if there is something special your son wants, you can get it at Wally World (our name for Walmart). You're right, the NEX is a convenience store. If you want certain Navy apparel or special souvenirs, the NEX is the place for it.

yeah packed the chapstick too. Thanks for the tip on the local store,Bobs mom! Do you happen to know if it is one of those 24 hr ones?
If you think of anything else that comes in handy, let us know. I would pack a new iron but that will blow my weight limit on the plane, I'm sure.
I keep thinking of you Aaronsmom when I pass the 75% off Easter section at Wally world (our name for it too). Do you need me to pick up anytjing to add to the basket? Those lego guys are so cute!!!!
