I think the Walmart is open 24 hours.  Bob told me to hold off on the larger items until he found out how much room he had.  Besides, he has a steady paycheck and access to the NEX.

Those lil' guys are just too darn cute!

Bobsmom, I see some pics of Sailors on Liberty after PIR in their Peanut-Butters, and I think I saw a few in their Dress Blues too. Do they choose what uniform they want to do PIR Liberty in? (Dress Blue, Peanut Butter, or Digi-camo-NWU?) Or are they told what to wear? Thank You! CB

I know Bob had a choice of what to wear after PIR so he chose his dress blues.

Thank You! I wonder what mine will wear??? Hmmm...
I would highly encourage him to wear his peanut butters if you're going into Chicago. Easily accessible. Please don't tell Bob I said that. He was so proud of his dress blues and he did look great in them.

When we were in the hotel room he was able to strip down to his undershirt, the boxers we brought him and the athletic shorts he wore under his blues. It was fun watching him carefully fold his uniform.
LOL! I hope mine chooses his Dress Blues too! I think we are getting Chicago Dogs, then probably chilling at the room at Navy Lodge, Then a Steak Supper nearby. He'll probably do the same as Bob and get into comfys and relax, probably sleep! LOL!

The Friday after PIR, we picked up Bob after he moved to his new home.  He came back, carefully took off his uniform, folded it, opened his new boxers, went into the bathroom, changed into his new boxers, talked to the fam for a while, then went into the bedroom and slept!  We woke him up long enough to have dinner (barbeque from his favorite restaurant back home), talk a little more and go back to the base.  That first day was a great time for him to decompress.

Saturday was our day to hit the ground running in Chicago.  We made it back in time to have a leisurely dinner (leftovers from the day before) and another nap before taking him back to base.

Sunday was church day, his requested steak dinner and sitting with us at the airport.

All in all, I would bet his favorite time was sitting around the Residence Inn just talking, getting his back scratched, and being his normal humorous self.  I just wanted to watch him and hear him talk.  Fortunately, our older son was there to ask questions.

sounds perfect! I think that I will take that guideline from you and try to make it as low key as possible.

I think that maybe with first sailor, I was thinking that he would want to get off base ASAP and so we did.(see zombie discussion) I like your plan much better cuz I know that we will be tired too.

Did you stay in the room while he slept or was it okay if you left so there is peace and quiet? We could go out and pick up some stuff to eat for that night. Our oldest(1st sailor) son will be there too so it sounds like we have the right ingredients.

We stayed at the Residence Inn so we stayed in the living room while he went into one of the bedrooms to sleep.  Actually, we all stretched out while he slept.  It was an exhausting weekend.  You could probably have a marching band in the room with him and he wouldn't hear it!

Aj and Bob's mom, thanks for sharing. I can hardly wait! I'm gonna have him just set the pace, and we''ll follow his lead.
