yes!!! My son left on 3/8.  I got a call from him today that they were still in pdays because they had to wait for 5 days for the rest of the group to get there.  That must be your son, that was in that group? What is he going into after BC? My son is IT.

Wow, I guess my son arrived at the right time...your poor guy has to endure an extra week!  My son is going into AECF. Can't wait for the graduation!  Where are you from?

IslandMom - My daughter is in a different div but same grad date.  She is also going into AECF so I assume they'll be in class together up in Great Lakes?

I was following along on the day to day 'schedule' online.  Yesterday would have been her Week 3 Day 1.  According to the schedule (I realize there could be some variation), today is the day (Week 3/Day 2) that they indicate their preferred rating (FC or ET) and will find out sometime in Week 4 what the Navy's final decision is for them.

I just wanted to stop in, 'introduce' myself and say 'Hello'.  :o)

1ProudMom - Thank you for that info!!  My SR wants FC.  Guess we'll find out soon!

Sorry, still learning the Navy lingo, what's AECF? haha.  We are from WV, just right outside Huntington. Where are you from?

AECF is Advanced Electronics/Computer Field.  We are from Florida.  Are you and your family going to the graduation?

What part of Florida? we have friends in Destin.  We go a few times a year but will go more this summer since Trevor will be at A school in Pensacola.  His wife is due to have their first baby in Nov so we want to spend as much time as possible down there before she can no longer travel.  We are definately going to graduation! Can't wait!!

Wish my son was in A school at Pensacola!  Destin is beautiful. My son's A school is in Great Lakes.  We live in southwest, FL - Pine Island, My boys are 6th generation natives here on the island. I don't know how my son is going to handle the cold weather up there.  Congrats on the grandbaby!  I too can't wait til graduation!  Wouldnt miss it for the world.

Hello IslandMom,

My Sr left for bootcamp 3/8. they are in the same ship and Division, don't you find this to be exciting?

Our daughter reported on 12 March.  Received the box, but no mail as yet.  We are hoping she is hanging in there.  She really wants this (will be a structural aircraft mechanic).  We are in Virginia, but she departed from Oklahoma.  Looking forward to seeing everyone there at PIR on 4 May 2012!

Jtsmom:  I find it VERY exciting!!  Your SR arrived just a few days before mine.

I have received one call from my SR but no letters yet.  I find myself running to the mailbox every day!!  Can't wait 'til graduation!!

Got letters today!! yay!! he said their ship/division was 1 of 2 out of 100 divisions that got some flag ceremony reward for doing so well:) His wife received 7 letters some were good but a few he was really tired.  He said first day of IT was awful but said its getting better.  he said they can only send out letters on Sundays, but they can receive letters monday-friday!!
