~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

abetter 24, I was told not to send the musical cards as some RDC's will make the whole div work out to the music until the battery dies and we do not want to punish our sailors more than they need to be. :)
Hey everyone, I'm new to the Site. My boyfriend of 7 years is in SHIP 03 DIV 167. Ive received 3 calls since tuesday March 11. one was the " made it safe" call. The The first saturday call was really heartbreaking for me. He missed home, was sleep deprived, sick, fell asleep and got in trouble in class, and it was just a tough transition out of P-days. This past Saturday i received another call and he is ALOT better. He got his wisdom teeth removed. Was down for 2 days but is better now, Learning to march, had first inspection (which he said they all did pretty awful) lol and is finally making friends and receiving mail& pictures regularly. i still haven't received a letter yet but continue to make mine entertaining :) so happy to be apart of this group. Its nice to hear that he's far from being alone and I'm not as well.
got a call today from my son!!great to finally hear is voice, call was like 24 mins, kept thinking he would have to go.He said his division was "cool" everyone getting along. They all are feeling better.I bet everyone else in division will be able to call over next few days.Ship14 DIV 165
Nothing better than getting the call. I know that it absolutely made my day and set the tone for the week..lol..praying that everyone is getting calls this week.
Hey ASLANSMOM. It has been a crazy week. Have you heard from your son yet.
J'sMom: So glad he at least left that message....which I'm sure you will listen to over and over again.
Hoping that both you and landy get more calls soon!
J's mom the exact thing happened to me :( my boyfriend called while i was at work and didn't have reception. he was able to reach his mom who told me had his wisdom teeth taken out and was in SIQ when the other recruits had called. So bummed I didn't get to talk to him :/
J'smom: I'm so sorry---I know it is so disappointing for both of you...but this happens often! I would just write some extra letters if you can! Did he leave a message? If he didn't, I wonder if it was a "need info" call? Those are supervised calls and they can't leave messages. Hoping that you hear from him again soon!
