OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

So sorry I was MIA today. My sailors have been home on leave and today was my last day with them. I took my daughter and grand baby shopping today and to lunch and then more shopping. We were gonna get pedicures but ran out of time lol. I sure am going to miss them. This is the latest pic of them :)

Congrats on the calls received today!  Hoping for those who have not received calls, that they will be coming soon!

ConnerGsmom;  Just be careful about the info you share with him during Bootcamp.  They purposely do not share much news with them, in general, so they can keep them focused.  Did he find out about the Malaysian plane crash up there or from a letter?  If up there, then obviously they are sharing the news, unless it came by way of a letter to another SR.

They purposely cut the SRs off from the outside world during training so they can keep from being distracted and keep focus.  So I just remind everyone to keep this in mind during Bootcamp.  Once in A School, when contact is back in place with family/friends, they will be back in touch with the world again!  :-)

VsMom:  I assume you mean phone CARD that was in the ditty bag?  Was this a "calls for recruits" card?  I wasn't aware that they are issued a phone card so would be interested in knowing more about that.  Before, they could arrive with one (as my son did), use their supply debit card, issued when they arrive, to buy one in the NEX....or family members could mail them one.  Please post what he said about the phone card so we have this info for future groups.  Thanks!

Hooyah! I FINALLY got a call from my SR. He called 4x's The 1st 2 calls went directly to voicemail like last week. I almost freaked totally out, thankfully he called again, but it was for only 1 minute on the calling card. He called again, this time for 14 minutes, and sounded so much better. Hooyah Ship: 09 Div: 170.
