Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 185 and 186

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My SR is Ship 9 Div 186 and called April 7th - we were able to talk for about 20 minutes.  He had his wisdom teeth removed, said the RDC's for his group were nice, even though they do yell.  I was impressed by his sense of responsibility and teamwork - he was emphatic that they must all graduate together and nobody be left behind. He called the following day and we were able to talk for about 10 minutes.  He said not to expect any more phone calls before graduation.  I am so very proud of him and all of the rest of these young guys becoming responsible men.

why is there no more calls?????? First they can not call or write... then they start writing and get us excited with the calls and now back to square one again. :-(

These next weeks will be very busy and all of their attention needs to be focused on the tasks at hand - Okay, I am guessing...  My SR told me that they are constantly studying and when he first arrived he noticed all the recruits were using all spare time to keep their noses in their books.

I remember studying like that all so well when I was in Nursing school! But studying your bottom off does pay in the end. Tests are still difficult but at least you have memorized the needed information.

I apologize for not including the ladies in my comment above - responsible young men and women - we are so proud of you!

Received letters from our SR Ship 9 Division 186 and he wrote that they received a Flag for Academics. They have been PT-ing more and his knees and shins are sore but stated he will make it. 3 more Thursdays and we fly out to Great Lakes.

Hello everyone,

The weeks/days are now getting shorter. I  believe the divisions are headed into the 5th training week.

I am guessing that they all have made it through H-Week and I have not heard of  any academic test failures or PFA set backs  to any of the SRs in Division 186, has anyone else heard differently?

It is tough not getting good phone calls and real time updates of what is going on.

These next couple of weeks should be a lot of hands-on stuff from what I read and the gas-chamber !!!!

BS 21 is coming soon.

Baby Monkey Waving

Anyone know how Division 186 is doing?  I heard they had a Division inspection last week Monday the 22nd but I don't know how they did.

They should be earning more flags for their division every time they pass a major test/inspection.

I believe today should be week 5 day 5, one week of training to go their final PFA and Academic test before BS-21, YES.

PIR here we all come, can't hardly wait !!!!

My husband is in that division. I won't get a letter about last week until Thursday, but in the last letter he said they were busy preparing for the inspection and test 2. They have earned 3 flags so far and if they did well on the inspection last week they would have earned a 4th flag.

Thanks NavyWifeJenn. I hope to get a letter this week and I will let you know how they did. If not, hopefully you will get one and let me know how they did.

That's great news that your husband passed his test 2. I hope they passed their inspection on got another flag.

This week should be a little challenging with their final PFA and their final academic test, test 3.

I hope and pray that all of our SRs in 186 does well so that they can go to Battle stations together.

Talks to you soon.

Got a letter today. Unfortunately my SR got the GI illness that was going around and he got sick (threw up) and had to go to sick bay for a day or two.

He also said they did not do well on their inspection so they did not get the flag or pendant.

But good news for him is that he passed his 2nd test and saw his orders where he is to be stationed.
