N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Deedee F. thank you! Best wishes to you too. I hope he makes it because he has strep throat and I know he's got a fever and all and his BS is coming up. If he doesn't pass, it will be because he's so sick. I hope since that letter that he went to medical. His throat is going to make it hard to breath.

I'll see you later on the Yeoman's group. Prayers for all these young men and women!

Liz'sMom:  She still has time to get it done!  Your wait may not be longer.  She will try again on Friday, then if she needs more chances, next Monday and even Wednesday.  If she passes by then, she will do BattleStations then and be at her PIR!  So lots of prayers!
I see you are on the FIT group...good!  sammy is great on there....she will see you through!

WestCoastMom:  Prayers that he is now on the road to recovery...hoping you get another letter soon or better yet, a call!

My son's PIR is May 10, 2013  Ship 13 Div 182  no word from him the last few weeks!  Anyone else know what is happening in this Division?

Comment by WestCoastMom SHIP 14, DIV 180 on May 1, 2013 at 7:18pm

diannep, he hadn't been sick in a few years. I think he's taken antibiotics twice in his life. I had strep once in my life and that was when my son was 1 year old and it was Xmas and I missed it. It was like all the symptoms he listed and it got so bad that my throat was closing and I could not longer speak. I am so upset right now, I know all he needs is antibiotics and he will start to feel better. His prior letter listed the ears hurting and a cough and I was already fearing the worst.  Poor guy and his battlestations are this week.

WestCoastMom:  When was the letter written?  Maybe he finally went and got some meds since the letter was written?.  I believe my son had told me that when he was there, they were able to get a Z-pac???  Sorry, we don't really do meds so not sure that is the term...my son was not one to ever take meds either, but he did take this when he was sick there.

The RDCs keep a pretty good eye on them with the illnesses.  Hoping that he is better since he wrote this and he can call you soon so you can talk to him.  Yes, I'm sure he is afraid to go to Medical in fear he will be setback. Hopefully he is getting better.
