I have a daughter in this division-anyone else?  Looking forward to getting a phone call from her, and a real letter.  I am trying to write her everyday. Even sent a letter from her dog  :-).  Also sent her a questionnaire, hope she doesn't think its silly.  Her PIR is 5/13 and we have made our reservations for Ramada Inn and will be driving there. Since we are appox. 6 hours away.

Hi Itsmemom,

How are you doing?  Only 2 more weeks!  Are you just about to go nuts?  I missed my son's phone call 2 days ago, but my husband got to talk to him.  He's doing great, but very tired.  I wonder if they will get to catch up on sleep before A school starts?  Are you going to the meet and greet? Is it still at the Ramada Inn on 5/12?  We should post pictures of ourselves next week so we'll know who to look for.  Maybe that can be my new "Discussion Topic."

Hopefully, these next 2 weeks will fly by.  Good luck to your daughter!

Joshsmom

I miss her too, actually talking to her. I am used to the house being quiet.  I have a son that hasn't live at home since 2003. And she was away at college for a few years. Even when she left college and came back her to live (April 2010), there were nights she was either spent it at friends. Or work different shift then me and we didn't see each other. BUT I always could talk to them on the phone whenever we wanted to.  Once she gets settled into A school and has her computer we will used Skype.  I am just hoping for her call, and we don't miss it.

Has your daughter called you? We got our first real letter on Wednesday.  Again it was only 2/3 of a letter--she started it, but didn't finish it. Stop in mid sentence---like I hope everything------??? Didn't get to sign it.

Oh well, will be watching the mail this Wednesday.

RowenaM,

How are you holding up?  Only 2 more weeks until we see our kiddos!  I can't believe it's gone by already, but it does seem like he's been gone forever!  My son says lots of people have bronchitis, hope your daughter's been spared.  If she hasn't, dont mention it here....SRs are being held back due  to illness.  We pray constantly for good health, good attitudes and good sleep! HaHa!  I wonder if they are going to get a chance to catch up on their sleep before A school starts?  We found out that ours will be flying out Saturday for A school.  He'll be closer to home, but the weekend will be cut short.

I wonder if our group is going to wear a ribbon or scarf of a particular color at PIR to identify ourselves?  Have you heard anything?

Well, Take care!  Have a great weekend,

Joshsmom

GOT MY PHONE CALL TODAY!!!!  So nice to hear from her!  I actually got home from work, was going to take off again, but read her letter.  She said in letter she thought she would be able to call on Tuesday 4/7 between 3-4 pm.  Well, she did she got to talk to her dad too.  She said she is homesick, windows are blacken in room.  But, she is doing well in pt.  Did more situps then she was supposed to, she missed her run by 1 sec.  Got fitted for dress uniforms.  We both cried, but I am so proud of her. I can't wait to see her!  Great to hear her voice!
We got our phone call last week and another letter, althought only 1 page, today.  He's doing well, but asked for prayer as the 4th week starts.  May 13th is coming soon! Yeah!
We got a letter yesterday too!  Seems like things are improving but he sure is looking forward to the end of boot camp.  Can't wait till PIR!
I wish we would find out when Battle Stations is for this group.  I hope it is going to be next week, but I have read it can be into the week of  PIR. I really hope they do it and we get the call that, "I am a sailor" before the weekend.  What a great mothers day gift that would be.  My daughter said in a letter that she will be able to call home on May 10th (which is a Tuesday) wasn't sure what time. In a letter I rec'd a few weeks ago she had written in that letter date and appox. time that she was going to be making a call home, and the call did come in on that day and time.  I really hope that the May 10th call is a extra call and that we would of gotten the "I am sailor" already.  I see that the lower div. already have their battlestations posted.
Just heared from my Boyfriend =] Battle stations are going to be next monday May 9th for this Div
Just heard from my daughter, she said Battle Stations will be on Monday 5/9/Tuesday 5/10.  Things are going ok with as far as bootcamp.

hi joshsmom,

I am doing ok, thx-well less than 2 weeks to go! I am not sure if we will make it to Meet and Greet. We are staying at the Ramada Inn, however my husband has to work on that Thursday (I am taking day off) so as soon as he gets home we will be leaving. It is about a 5 to 5 1/2 hour drive to Chicago for us. So depending on what time he can slide out of work. My daughter hasn't gotten the bronchitis (thank goodness) but has had some other medical issues. One was her problems with her leg, she was on crutches for a few days-but that is ok now. The other is she is waiting for some test results to come back on something else. This shouldn't keep her from PIR. Just keep her in thoughts & prayers. I am looking so forward to getting the, "I am a sailor" call. I will keep my phone by me (even in school classroom). I also have a blue LED candle-I have been turning on every night. On day of battle stations I am turning it on at 8 pm and will keep it on until I get the call. I will even carry it to work with me. You do know about lighting blue candles for our sailors don't you?

No I havent heard of the blue candle tradition, what does that mean?  Glad your daughter's leg is better.  Josh said he has been really sore, but he has tried to fight through everything, because he doesn't want anything to stand in the way of graduation.  He was looking forward to the gas chamber to clear out his head...that's pretty bad, huh? Yuck!
