ochaos said it beautifully.

I have a funny story about the cursing.  My son tried to control it while he was home over the Christmas stand down.  I never heard it from him.  He is in A school now and we get on Skype about once a week.  One day we were skyping and his headmate (roommate) came in the room and starting talking to my son.  Let's just say that his language was quite colorful.  My son just looked at him and said "Hey, man, please tone down your language, I'm on skype with my mom and she doesn't want to hear that"  His headmate came over to the screen and said to me "I'm so sorry, maam, I do apologize"  I actually thought that was quite sweet, although I also thought it was a little funny too.  :)

This is the one place where your feelings are understood without question, this is the place to come when you need support or to just celebrate something good.

I think it just gets harder as we get closer and closer to PIR. Anybody else have a grad and go to Fort Leonard Wood MO?

Nytesail - Looking forward to the Meet and Greet too!

Ochaos - Thank you for the encouraging words.  Yes, this is the place to voice concerns and yes, this is kind of our own boot camp - we are in training too!  I try my best to be upbeat in my letters or on the phone (when I get the privilege).  I really work at being positive when talking to my SR.  The times I seem to break down is when others like yourself speak to my concerns and lift me up during my low times.

Thank you for being a voice of reason and the lifter of our spirits.  You seasoned moms are awesome!

Remember that this journey is just as much about you being in training as it is for our recruits.  Things change, schedules change, they can not always tell you everything, there will be times when you do not hear from them for a while, there will be ups and downs and everything in between, they will see people drop, leave the service, rollback and finish their training.  Focus on today and learn not to worry about tomorrow.  Always be encouraging and uplifting even when your heart is breaking, they do not need to be worrying about us and how we are dealing with things.  This journey is a difficult one for the ones at home and not knowing what is going on and hard to grasp when you are still so new to it, relax and breathe and it will get better.

Live your life as normal as possible, come to this site for support but do not stress over phone calls, letters and how they are doing.  Phone calls get missed or not made, it is not the end of the world even though it may feel like it at that moment.  We have wonderful recruits and who are on a new journey in their life and we need to be okay with the not knowing what is going on and not hearing from them as this may happen from time to time during their time in the Navy, the sooner you are okay with this the better for them as they do not need to know that we are stressing or worried about them.

If you are sad, lonely, missing them, angry or many other emotions come here where we know how you feel and we can lift you up.

Is there supposed to be a call coming this week? I know I should have a letter coming on Wed but a call would be amazing :)

I hope everyone has a great week and gets a letter, phone call or even better both :-) Sorry I haven't been on here very much the last days I have had an unexplained fever and chills but I am finally feeling better.

My daughter cusses a lot more now than ever before. That is the one thing I wish she had not gotten from the Navy :-)

I know I just keep remembering how close we're really getting to see them and I think these last couple of weeks are getting harder and harder. And now that the weather is getting nice outside and I take our dog for walk and it's just different without him.

Morning,

Mama C~I couldn' load it either.

It seems to be that time in the SR training for some at home, the missing them that is.  My son's GF felt the same way this weekend.  We went for a walk down to the beach of Lake Michigan and the waves were  high along with the winds and we couldn't help but think of our SR and the intense training yet to come in his field.  In my own mind and heart I thought, this is only the beginning of long road to travel.

All will be well.  I believe!

Have a good day and I am so looking forward to the meet and greet Thursday night and of course PIR day.

Yesterday seemed to be tough for me too, NavyGF and SubWife.  I think maybe because the light at the end of the tunnel is getting bigger and brighter?  Just want to see them again.   No phone call for me today - was hoping.

I think part of it for me is that Easter is next week and this will be the first holiday that my son won't be home.  It's gonna be a learning curve for all of us and something "we'll have to get used to" - if that's possible!

Couldn't get the security info to load - what about Nukes?
