For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Good Morning All and safe travel! Enjoy Sarge's MeetandGreet tonight and be EARLY to PIR tomorrow....gates open at 6:30l.
HINT: If driving, stay to the left on Buckley (main drag to RTC). Car line to enter RTC will be on your right. Bypass RTC and turn around right past it, near train station. Head back to RTC from opposite direction. Easy left turn into RTC, no wait! Proven to be true from previous attendees who posted that it was the best "hint" they got!

Got my call this afternoon! Very excited for him, he was very tired but happy :) Can't wait to see him Friday!! Everyone be safe & hopefully we will meet some of you at the meet & greet! Yay!!

MaryH: If you never received a phone call saying he failed his final PFA, don't come....then I think you can assume you have a sailor! The fact that his friend was able to chat with him on FB the day they made their I'm a Sailor calls is good news! Did she say he is a sailor?

Me too ... I spoke with him and he was so tired that he barely had the energy to speak at a normal level. :) I'm so happy and proud.

Jenn,
Not sure if you are referring to the colored bars on their uniforms for sharpshooter, expert, etc.. for their gun shooting during training, which they get to wear on their uniforms along with other patches and insignia showing their rate (green, red, or green). It's not posted anywhere. You just see them wearing it.
The flags earned by their division are carried in front of their as they march in and stand for PIR. Also not posted anywhere that I'm aware of~~
