~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Happy Birthday Catsmom, you are so wonderful!!!
So sorry I have been MIA, we are in FL and I haven't been able to use my computer until now and N4Ms is not iPhone friendly or I am just nuts and don't know how to use it lol. Our FL Meet and Greet is tomorrow (Friday) night at 7pm at Rusty Bellies in Tarpon Springs for anyone in the nearby areas who would like to join us :) I hope everyone is having a great week :)
Thanks, Twodaloo! It was very exciting to talk to him and then I found out he was on FB posting so I went over there to talk to him again. They had to return to the ship though.
Such a proud mama right now!
Yipee codersmom! Mines is Div189 Ship 12. They must be next in line because I heard they were BS 21 today and be done by tonight. So I'm keeping this phone right next to me for the next 12 or so hours or more.. Congrats on the call. Can't wait for the next 7 days!
I had let him know that we needed to change 2 people on his list but he said his list is set in stone now....he said he'd check but he didn't think he could change it at this point.
Yes! 187 here! My SR now Sailor just called me! I was in the middle of driving and he sounded wonderful! Exhausted but wonderful!!
Those with sailors in 187/188 be checking FB pages. Your new sailor may get on the computer before getting to the phones!
Any calls yet from 187/188? They did BattleStations last night. Hoping the calls start soon from them! Phones close by!
MassMom: Ok, they don't check the form letters/passwords at RTC....don't know where my mind was when posting that! The password is used to download your gate pass....THAT (gate pass) is what you need to keep with you. It is really only for the cars going onto base, but I had one in my purse anyway, even though I took the shuttle (gate pass is not needed to get on base with the shuttle). But....confession...I believe I had tucked a copy of my form letter in my purse too. I'm an "over preparer" and wanted to make sure to have everything!
