OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Does Anyone Else Have A sailor Going To Gulfport, MS for A School? My Son Is Going To Be A Seabee . I Love Hearing What All The Different Plans Are For Each Individual. My Son Decided To Join The Navy When He Was 6. We Were In GL For My Brother PIR, 1999. I Have A Pic Of My Son Wearing A Sailor Hat, Saluting, Standing At The RTC Sign. My Brother Was A Submariner While In The Navy, And I Have A Nephew Who Is A Submariner In The Navy Now. My Brother Is A Civilian Employee At Groton..... He Just Couldn't Stay Away!

A RR address as not be a problem as long as you have a Photo ID. The rural route address is still considered a "street" address.

My SR's PIR is 5/17/13.  Of course, I will be there but, to get on the base I understand that I will need to show my photo ID.  We live in a very tiny town in a very rural part of Nebraska and our address is still a rural route number.  Is this going to be a problem.  We simply don't have street addresses.

Welcome back butrfliesnstars :) I didn't think they were going to continue with the all female divisions. Personally i think the integrated ones make much more sense. If they are going to work together in the fleet then they may as well start in boot camp. My daughter was in an integrated division and like your daughter she would not have wanted to be in all female division. Way too much drama with that many girls lol. I look forward to hearing about her experience and it's good to have you back :)

Welcome back, butrfliesnstars!  I remember you because of your neat screen name!  As a N4Moms veteran already, you will be able to answer some questions on here for the ladies.  Glad you can help us!

Hello Ladies/family members,

My son PIR'd in Oct and is currently at C school. I currently have a daughter in BC she is in Ship 12 DIV 190. She was hoping for a co-ed division but she ended up in an all female division. She misses home but is enjoying BC. Hope everyone is coping well. It's an adventure for us family members at home as well as our SR's.

Thoughts and prayers for all those in Boston affected by these bombings. So sad that our country has been attacked again. No news who did this but whoever they are from some other country or our own I hope they are caught very soon. There is a person of interest in custody. They don't know yet if it is a victim or perpetrator. We have heard from our family members who live there and they are fine. Some of them can't get home but at least they are okay. I hope all of your families in that area are okay as well <3

Jesssea and anyone else who is interested.  I spoke to a lady named Gloria today regarding the Divisional T-shirts.  She said they are still transitioning over to the new company and does not know if we will be able to order the T-shirts before graduation or if we will have to wait until after.  She said there should be a posting on the RTC website with the new companys info possible today.  She also said that she would be passing the info on to this website, the navyfordads website and the Facebook page.  She was very nice and helpful but that's the info I got from her and wanted to pass it on.  :)  Have a fantabulous day all!!!
