~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hey, does anyone know if girls can wear earings during A-School?

Good morning to all, I was a little bummed last night for not phone calls. Then, I picked up all the letters that I have received from my daughter and reread them AGAIN. This helped me have a smile. 32 more days and we will see our Sailors!!I Noticed that some have been asking about t-shirts, Lala, I thought you made them, or do you do just the ribbons. Speaking of ribbons I am calling today, after I plant all my vegetables in my garden. A little behind here in Texas.

Good Morning All!

Thank you, Lala, I have no doubt that it will happen just like it's supposed to. :) Hopefully by tomorrow at this time we will all be reading eachothers' posts about the phone calls we got from our SR's. .......or maybe next weekend..... ;) It's hard not to hear from them and I'm grateful for this group, it's nice to 'talk' to people who are in the same boat (pun intended).

It's small business tax time at my house too, ugh.
Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on April 13, 2013 at 10:23pm

Yeah the company that has been doing the shirts lost their contract. The  Navy gave the contract to someone else. Right now we are unsure who the new company is and we are unsure if they will be selling the shirts to families and friends or just to the recruits/sailors. We have put in an email to try and get some more information and we will pass it along as soon as we hear back from them.

Sbt, it is really common for most of the divisions to finally come together as a team. It can cause them a lot of "IT" but that is what will form them into the fantastic Sailors you will see at PIR. They will all get it together soon so hang in there :)

Sorry I have been MIA, I am sure you all will understand when I say small business owner and Tax time :( I hate tax time!!! The good news is I have to be finished by Monday so I will be available more starting Tuesday :)

I would think at this point they are enough of a cohesive unit that if one person is ruining it for all of them, they need to all figure out a way to work better together. :) They have some serious challenges as a group coming up and I'm sending positive thoughts for them, that they are all doing well together and that each and every one of them has all their Navy Moms' support. And a whole group of Navy Moms is a powerful good-thought-sending team! Booyah!!

Ugh! No calls?? Anyone???

Was really thinking today would be the day. Hope no one ruined it for all!!

That is awesome! Thank u so much!
Comment by diannep on April 13, 2013 at 3:03pm

MassMom:  Since your sailor is going to Pensacola for A School, this pass will allow you to actually drive onto the base when you return him that night rather than dropping him off at the front gate.  You can wait in the chapel parking lot for more "visit" time if he has a few extra minutes before heading to his ship.  So that gate pass buys you more time with your sailor and saves him some walking!  :-)

Comment by ellen0502 on April 13, 2013 at 2:58pm

MassMom, You will not need the gate pass of you are taking the shuttle to PIR. However, yes, you may be able to use it to drive them back to their ship (or close) after liberty on Friday. If your SR is staying in GL for A School, it may also help you to drive on to the base on the TSC side to check them out and back in each night. You may also want to print a copy (or several) as a keepsake too.
