Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good morning!  I have a question about the gate passes for PIR.  I will be renting a car but we will be taking the hotel shuttle to PIR.  My question is, will I still need the gate pass when I drop off my son on Friday night, because we will be using the rental car at that time?  Or is the gate pass only for PIR?

SammsMom:  We are just hearing about this.  I will see if I can find something out about this.  So sorry!  We have been directing people to this company for a long time!

Does anyone know anything about the Divisional Tshirts????  I sent an email to the email address that was on the order form wondering about turn around time on orders.  I recieved an email back stating that the last group they would be doing tshirts for was the 05/10/2013 group and that the Navy gave the divisional tshirt to another company!!!  Does anyone know who the new company might be or how we order? Thanks!!!!!! :)

Thanks Jesssea!!! :)

I was telling my daughter in a recent letter that as parents we realize at some point in our childs childhood that time is going by too fast and we would like it to slow down because before we know it our children will be adults and on there own.  Well now I told her I want time to speed up so I can see her face again because I miss her!!!  Life sure is funny!!! :)
