~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

sheldons mom .....YAY, so happy for you!
I hope my boy gets to call tomorrow :-)
No letter yet!!!! Maybe today, but I am happy to see those of you that did receive them. I wanted to share a good story with all of you, that I think you will appreciate. My brother is a captain/pilot for Southwest airlines. As he was walking to his plane he saw 4 navy girls, stopped and talked with them. They had just graduated. He showed them my daughters address at the navy bootcamp where they had just left. They told him that she was just one floor under them in the same building. All 4 girls were so well mannered, positive and said this was the best experience that they could have ever had. He felt so blessed to have met them. He told all 4 girls thank you for serving our country. The girls did tell him to make sure to send as many letters as you can as it does get lonely.
SRmom two times, what do you think about a 10 y\o going to the graduation? My daughter put her little brother on the list. When you referred to the " little ones" was it babies and toddlers that had a hard time or older kids too? I'm not sure what to do, but she obviously wants him there. Just seeking out some opinions before I make a final decision. Thank you.
diannep my first PIR was 9/7/12 she let her big sister know that even though she is active duty she will need to be on the list and luckily we don't have any little ones to bring it seemed as if it was a little overwhelming for the little ones last PIR. animallover011 I think it is a little to early in boot camp for them to get a phone call they are still gaining their military baring and letting go of the civilian way. My first sailor said she was glad she couldn't talk to me in the first couple weeks because she was not used to the military way and hearing our voices may have made her a little more homesick.
Good morning! Hope every one is doing as best as can be expected while their love ones are away. anais mom and janais mom, my daughter is ship 14 div 192. I understand that that is a brother div to ship 14 div 191 and that they will all be training together along with doing battle station 21. Anyway, just trying to connect with more people with the same PIR . Have a Happy Easter!
animallover: Some of them may, but with over 5,000 SRs at RTC, obviously most of them will not. Keep the phone handy just in case!
We will appreciate your help, SR mom two times! When did your first one graduate? There have been some changes in the past few months on graduation issues, like ages of those who don't have to be on the guest list (2 and under now rather than 12 and under), no extras allowed in anymore, active military and retired military now need to be on the guest list. But most likely, most of what you remember remains!
Good Morning All!
I was wondering if recruits get to make phone calls on holidays. My daughter is in ship 12 division 190. thank you
