Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hi All! Just spoke to Sarge!  What a load of information he has stored in his head! LOL!  He emailed me a lot of info as well... if you would like me to email it to you, I would be more than happy to... just message me!

Navywife09,

I was thinking the same exact thing!  Crossed fingers!  What a wonderful Easter present... to hear my son's voice!

I know Im stuck at work til tonight but can't wait to rush home and check the mail! I noticed he wrote my phone number down wrong on the "box" bc he is used to using his cellphone w/it and I'm sure he was super nervous with just arriving...but I'm hoping I get the letters out to him with the correct number, I heard he gets anther call soon and I don't want him to use the wrong # and miss it! Missed it by one number Lol gotta love him though!

Not sure about a list of the hotels, but these are the ones I know have the shuttle:

Residence Inn, Courtyard Inn, Springhill Suites, Ramada (has its own shuttle), but there are others.  Sarge provides shuttle service to all hotels too so don't worry...you can get shuttle service.  Navy Lodge doesn't have it, but Sarge will take you from there too.  The PIR shuttle service is actually a group of taxis operating as shuttles on PIR morning.

puertorico:  Everything there is very close....maybe 4-6 miles.

Do you know how much Sarge will charge for a shuttle from Navy Lodge to PIR?

Comment by NavyWife09 Ship 3 Div 193 on March 28, 2013 at 1:16pm

I received my box on Tuesday and am also still waiting for my letter, so no worries. We can wait for it together.

 leighannjoyce,

Welcome!  I was fortunate, my box arrived the same day as the letter... but it should be arriving soon!

Is there a complete list of which hotels will have a shuttle to PIR?

Comment by puertorico-USSGHWB on March 28, 2013 at 12:48pm

Is everything close by where at Dianne?
