N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

According to my sons recruiter... He should know towards the end of BC of when he will be shipping out to Pcola. Could be Saturday or sunday. I booked our room through Sunday just in case

Lala Ribbon Queen, My co-workers son's PIR is 4/5 and she was telling me about the ribbons you make. Do you have a picture or another site where you advertise them?

That's awesome. My husband's recruiter told us that there are two possibilities. One is graduate and go, where he leaves for Pensacola just hours after graduation and he will have liberty during the weekend at Pensacola or he will graduate and have liberty during the weekend in in GL and then fly to Pensacola. I'm not sure how I will know which it is.

Navywife09 My son graduates the same day and hes attending A school in GT and his recruiter told us that he will be able to come home until June when he finishes

Is there anyway I could come visit him on base at all, since he is not allowed to leave?

Comment by ellen0502 on March 27, 2013 at 3:07pm

NavyWife, When they fly out to school they do not get liberty the rest of the weekend at their A School. As a general rule, your husband will probably not be able to leave base until he phases up at school, which can be several weeks (schools may differ slightly on phasing up).  What his liberty after that would be I don't know

Happy Birthday Betsy!!!

I was thinking about following my husband to Pensacola to spend the rest of his PIR weekend with him...is that something that will be possible? If not, will there be any chance for me to visit him in A school?

MassMom, My husband is also leaving for Pensacola for A-School. Thank you for asking that questions because I had the same one :D
