Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Simplypkay, This would be your PIR group since your daughter is in division 927 and this is TG 27. Wow two kids in the Military!

wtallen, Welcome to you!. It is nice to get a male perspective on things. :)

sheldonsmom, This is probably the correct group for you.

Vicky, The Navy Lodge is a great place to stay, I was there a year ago.

My son shipped out from Houston on March 19th as well. Hopefully Simplypkay and I have done our math right and found the right group. :)

Hi y'all! I'm new to the "Navy" way....I just went through Marine boot with my son LOL.
My daughter shipped out from Houston on March 19th. If I am figuring correctly her PIR will be 5/17. She is Ship 02 USS Reuben James Div 927.
I am so glad to connect with other Navy MOM's. I know that I would have been lost with out my Marine MOM's while, and still, my son was in boot.
HOOYAH!!

HI everyone, we are so happy to have you in this group. I look forward to getting to know you and hearing about your recruits. I am one of the veterans here to help you get through this experience. My daughter and son-in-law have been in the Navy almost three years. they are now based in VA Beach area and are expecting their first baby, our first grand baby and we are all super excited about it. My daughter is an AO3 and my SIL is an IT3. My daughter was in the performing division during boot camp and was in the boot camp choir. I know this journey is just beginning and I know this is hard for you. But we really do understand what you are going through and we are here to help. For now start writing letters. Write every day if yuo can. Your letters are what will get them through the next day. They can do this with your encouragement :) The days will drag by but the weeks pass quickly, Please let us know if you need anything at all <3
