Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Lisazship, did she give you an address to send it to? Of a fax number to send it? Usually, they would tell you where to send something like that.

There are a lot of things taken care of suring P day, starting with the DIV needing to fill up, they have classes on rules and all kinds of stuff. There are a lot of them there to process so there is a lot of wait time. This is all normal, Proicessing days take usually 1 week but sometimes up to two weeks. Their PIR date won't change for a whole division. They may end up being a push division meaning they have a little less time in training to get everything finished. But they will finish :)

My daughter called on Monday to request a document and she left on the 26th she said she was in p day 1 my question is I got her adderess from the recruiter I was trying to wait for the letter but the item she requested she said send ASAP when do they get moved to their ship after p days are all done cause I was up at the recruiters again today and told me to go ahead and send the paper she is in her ship I'm so mad at the recruiter as it is I'm so confused I thought they stayed in the pearl until they were finished with p days

My son left on March 25th.  I received his boxes on Monday.  I have not received the letter yet.  His recruiter told me he was in Division 181

Hi everyone. I called my sons recruiter who said he's on ship 11 div 182. I received his box on Monday but so far no form letter. I keep checking the mail every day but so far no luck

I feel the same way worried she is stuck in p days too since it was last Tuesday when she arrived and got her box last Thursday.

I can't imagine what would hold anyone up that arrived last week though. I'm very worried my wife is still stuck in P days just because I haven't heard anything.
Comment by ellen0502 on April 2, 2014 at 9:11pm

Form letters can take 1-3 weeks to be received. The form letter is not sent until the recruits move from processing over to their training ship.

I haven't gotten my wife's either. It's a little worrisome.
