OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Paula, I don't know how much time your SR needs to take off his run, but I will tell you this. The RDCs want them all to succeed believe it or not, and since he sent that letter he may have already passed...you never know.

If he hasn't he will be given every opportunity and all the time they can give him to pass his run. He can even pass his run on the Wed before PIR, do BS either that night or Thur and still make PIR.

I'm freaking out!! I got my letter from. my SR... He's doing well and actually had a great week except his run for the PT test. He did not make the time (second time he missed it). He's passed everything else. So now I'm freaking out...if he doesn't pass the run the last time, what happens?? The reason I'm really freaking out is if he gets pushed a week...my husband can't go...he won't be able to get the time off due to other people's vacations scheduled at work!! I need prayers for my son to have swift feet the next time!! My son would be devastated if his dad can't go. So I'm asking for advice and prayers, please!!

Lighthouse3,

I hope that your clean-up progresses day-by-day and that nothing truly valuable in any way to you or your family was not damaged.  How do you eat an elephant?  One bite at a time -- no offense to lemonelephant!!  LOL!!

Also, prayers for your daughter and dog to recover from their illnesses quickly. Hoping it is not mold/mildew, gotta watch out for that stuff~~

You're welcome, Lighthouse3, I LOVE serving our Lord in the scriptural encouragement ministry and anything else I can help out with!!

I have some BattleStations dates.  Just send me your division number in a friend request or message me if we are already "FRIENDS"  on here.

If anyone learns when Battle Stations will be for divisions 203 & 204, could they send me a private message?  I know we are NOT to post it publicly.
