~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

We just left our sailor at O`Hare for his flight to San Antonio. He got the airport at about 5:00 AM and his flight did not depart until 7:00 PM this evening. We met up with him at the DUO which was very crowded. We took Sarge's advice and booked a room at the Hilton, right at the airport for their day rate of $55.00. It allowed us to have some quiet time with him and allowed him time to rest, take a shower, etc. It was a great way to spend our last day with him for a while. Thanks to Sarge for a great suggestion. Future Navy parents with sailors leaving from O'hare for A school, this is the way to go if you want a last few quiet hours with your sailor.
Hello!
"The Lord gives His people strength.
The Lord blesses them with peace."

smokeater,
So glad you got some special moments with your Sailor! Congratulations on his graduation!!
No training on Memorial Day! Sunday routine on federal holidays...however, we DO think they will have BattleStations that night for the next PIR group.
Yep, that's the Navy! It can be very frustrating with their restrictions at times....but in the long-run, they are there for their sailors!
Good Morning! Enjoy visits with your sailors today!
Sooo...the Navy took care of you :-) That's great!
Today was wonderful, beautiful, joyful, and sad all in one day. It was wonderful to see my SR actually graduate to become a full fledged Sailor. Well, kinda anyway. They did give me a beautiful present this morning even before the PIR started. They let Me and His Dad take a couple of pictures with him at his door where e was standing post. Joyful spending time with him and seeing the accompliahment on his face and the pride. Sad having to take him back to the base at 1900 for watch, and knowing that a few hours tomorrow will be all i have of him for a while. He has truly matured..Love that Sailor. .
Congratulations ladies (and gentlemen) you have all now graduated from BC for moms (and loved ones). BRAVO ZULU!!!!
I have changed the name of the group to ALUMNI OF PIR 05/24/2013!!!
Remember to check in here and let everyone know how your SAILOR is doing and where they will be going. Some of you have SAILORS who have made life long friends in BC, some will be attending school together, and some may even end up in the fleet together.
There are also groups on this site for Ships, Schools, States etc check them out. Those groups also have support from others with SAILORS going through the next phase of the Navy journey.
