For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Death in the family
Does anyone know how to go about telling your Sailor about a death in the family? My grandmother passed away this evening and I don't want to see my sailor on the 25th and have to tell him on his PIR day. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I had this discussion with my daughter before she left, and we agreed that she didn;t need to know about any tragedies while she was at BC unless it involves immediate family. I'm so sorry for your loss :(

I'm sorry for your loss as well. My SR's grandmother passed the first week into BC. We too agreed before she left, that we would hold off on news like that until after BC. However, I do plan to tell her in person when I see her next week.

@ Cheryl & Andrea So sorry for your families loss. With all the high stress that both of you are already going thru, it is probably best left to provide your Sailor with this information following PIR and face-to-face! No one wants to learn of a loss without someone to hug, cry and just plain understands what you are feeling. Hugs to all of you!! Again I'm so sorry for your loss.

Thank you so much for all of your input and condolences. We truly appreciate it. My son ended up calling yesterday for over an hour and we deceided to tell him, so that when we see him on PIR it's not taking away from his great accomplishment. He was upset and cried, but luckily we had such a long phone call, that he was ok by the time we hung up. We never did let him know that she was in the hospital & hospice because we knew that he had a lot going on and a lot of stress. He greatly appreciated that. I'm sure when we see him Friday there will be tears of joy and sadness.
Andrea, i'm so sorry for your loss as well. I hope that when you talk with your sailor it goes well.
