to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

If anyone in this group lives within driving distance to New Port Richey FL (surrounding areas include Holiday, St Petersburg, Clearwater etc I will be there on vacation and I am going to have a get-together for all of my navy Mom friends who would like to join us on Wednesday afternoon/evening. I will have goodies/food and we can all sit around (or in if you prefer) the pool and just have a fun time getting to know each other and talking about our recruits and Sailors. If anyone is in that area and would like to join us please send me an email and let me know. My hubby will be away on a fishing trip and we were gonna do it Monday because he wants to be there but that is our 1st wedding anniversary <3 So, I would love to have you join me and others and you will get to meet my Sailor as well :-) The date is Wednesday June 27th. If you would like to meet but that afternoon or evening isn't good for you let me know and we will set up a another time while I am there :-) I am so excited to meet some of my navy Mom friends!!! My email is uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com

When it rains, it pours :-( If you received an email from me (regular email from uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com, not this sites emails/messages)  it would have had a weird weird link on it. DO NOT open the link. I didn't send it and it could be a virus. I am so sorry for any inconvenience this could have caused and of my friends. I get these emails all the time so I know not to open them. But I guess somehow I got a virus from it. Don't open it and you will be fine. I never send links like that in an email. I would only send you a link to my website or facebook page and that would be in the middles of a real message that you can tell is from me. Thanks

eileenz:  Glad that it didn't upset your son.

katdino:  Hope that you daughter gets the patch/alterations and it won't cost her much.  I wouldn't think it would!

Comment by eileenz on May 30, 2012 at 9:20am

Good morning, everyone. :-) katdino, that happened to my son, too! He said that since he is at the end of the alphabet, they were out of patches by the time they got to him. And since he was in a different division than your daughter, this seems like a fairly common occurence. He seemed to take it in stride. :-)

Comment by katdino on May 30, 2012 at 2:43am

My daughter is an E2 but like 13 sr's in their division didnot get their patches for PIR because they ran out, which is quite sad, now she has to pay for her own patch and to have it sewn on.

Comment by diannep on May 29, 2012 at 9:18am

jenn:  If she is an E-1, no stripes on the sleeve, then she is an SR.  If an E-2, 2 stripes, then an SA.  If an E-3, 3 stripes, then she is an SN.  Glad that you can address letters just in her name until you find out!

Good morning all!

Comment by jenn724 Ship7 Division 161 on May 29, 2012 at 6:43am

Lady Hamilton, nothing leads me to believe she is no longer an SR, which is why I was asking.  Her husband graduated Friday too, and his  mail should be addressed SN.  I wasn't sure with her, since she isn't very forthcoming with information.  I'm hoping to get through to the airline today. Thank you for the info..

She is in San Antonio for HM school, and told me her name is fine until further notice...LOL
