Today is day 21 - still no letter from my baby girl!  Has anyone from Ship 7/Div 162 received a call or letter? (other than the form letter?)

My fiance isn't in this division, but I haven't received anything either =/

Hang in there!  What Div is he in?  When did he leave for BC?

Andrea,

I am so glad you posted.  My son is also on this ship/division....I haven't received anything either!!  I thought surely I'd get a letter today...it was a gut feeling, but I was wrong!!  I know that a friend of mine has a son on Ship 7 / Division 159, and she received a call and a letter on Saturday morning!!

I don't know what is taking so long....   I have been very paranoid today, because I feel like I might have missed a call from him, maybe.  I had a missed call on my phone, but it was coming from Washington.  I know that they are not in Washington, but I thought maybe all government lines came up that way??  I tried calling the number back, but it would not go through!!

I ALWAYS have my phone on me....I want to just kick myself, because I happened to set it down for just a minute and then I looked at it and had a missed call!!  :(  It was around noon and I was warming my lunch!!    Maybe it is wishful thinking on my part....but I really want to hear from him!

Please let me know if you get a letter or call.....I will keep praying/hoping.

Nothing here either :(

Hang in there...it will come soon - my bet is Saturday!

Still no call or letter.  I have a friend who's son is in Div 155, she got a call and a letter over the weekend.  We have to be getting close!! I have my phone with me at all times and the ringer on LOUD!  It will likely come from 847 area code. I've been receiving stupid politcal campaign calls from weird numbers - but I answer it anyway - just in case! No news is good news, but that doesn't really help my heart much - I just want to hear her sweet voice!  I'm happy to know that they are working together as a team, and look forward to meeting you at PIR!  Keep me posted if you hear anything!!

Andrea (Kansas City)

My son is in the same division and NO we haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully sometime this week!!

I recieved a personal letter from Kelsey today!!!  Mixed emotions - soooo happy to hear from hear, on the other hand, she is very homesick, scared, exhausted and questioning her decision to join - her career path is to be a nurse.  She was appointed Yeoman, which is extra responsibility, but will provide more visibility to the RDC's and hopefully help her to get a Hospital Corpsman job.  There was not one available during MEPS - so she went in as undesignated so she could fasttrack and continue to wait for a Corpsman position to open.  Overall, she will be fine...she was bitching about the Navy issued skivies aka, big white granny panties!   Andrea:)

Yay! Good for you Andrea!

Got one today!!!! :) Ann-Marie

How did your recruit sound?  kelsey sounded exhausted and was questioning her decision to join.  She is pushing through, and I know this is the toughest part - I will just continue with my letters of encouraage ment everyday!!  In one of my letters I asked what the girls undergarments were like....ha! She replied they are big granny panties!  At least she still has her sense of humor!

My son's letters we awful... I was fine until I got the letters. He is so down and saying others are getting letters and he is not- He said he understands how busy we are..... ACKKKKKK!!! Maybe he got his letters today. At this point I am more concerned about him getting my letters than getting letters from him. He needs the encouragement so bad. I wish he could have a call so I could tell him... Momma's bought tickets and hotels... don't you quit on me! You will be so proud when you graduate and you will regret leaving for the rest of your life.

I did write him last night after I could stand to sit for more than 2 seconds and addressed his stress line by line from each letter and reminded him why he joined in the first place- using his own words. In the moment they forget that all this is not personal.

He had a P.O bust his hand in the bunk for not putting up his safety bar. He has been to medical and hospital a few times. So as I mom... I want my call to let him know- this is NOT forever- it is 4 more weeks and YOU CAN DO IT!!!!  Go Navy!! and all that jazz :)
