I figure since divisions 159 and 161 were represented already, I'd add 160 ;)
It's hard to believe that it's been over a week since my brother left already. When I called my dad to give him my brother's address, he mentioned that when he took my brother out for his going away party, a Navy vet had come up and told him that he will gain a whole brotherhood/sisterhood while in the Navy, so that really makes me feel better. I'd love to meet the families of his new brothers and sisters!

Hi everyone...just curious if anyone has received an actual letter from their son/daughter. I'm checking the mail box everyday and nothing so far. We are just getting anxious to hear something. Has anyone made reservations yet? I think I'll end up going to the Residence Inn if I don't hear of anything better. My friend's son went through boot camp and graduated in February. She has been sharing bits and pieces with me. Graduation Day is going to be the best day ever. Bring lots of kleenex!!!!
Other than the form letter, I haven't received any letter yet. :-( Hope my son writes soon as we all anxious to hear from him!!!
Haven't heard anything since I sent my letter to my brother, I'm assuming he's just so busy he doesn't have time to write :) Still looking around for hotels for PIR though
It just dawned on me...do they need stamps to send letters back to us? Maybe that's why some of us haven't heard back?
I gave my son a book of stamps before he left for BC. I guess the question is...will he write??? From what I read on the other groups is that they don't have much time for writing other than perhaps Sunday. I'm not sure if mail is delivered to them daily or only on Sunday.
Ahh ok, a quick check with my Mom and she had that base covered too. :) She was hoping for a phone call yesterday, but isn't that next weekend?
You can send stamps if you want to. That is one of the items they are allowed to buy at the NEX but they may not have had a chance to do so. They have to go when told and no other time. They are normally allowed to write on Sundays but they have a lot of other stuff that has to be done in their "holiday time" They normally get letters Monday through Friday. Later on they may be allowed to write and send letters 2 to 3 days instead of just on Sundays. Hopefully you will all get letters this week :-)
Hi everyone, it's week 3, i suppose we can expect a call from our SR this time, right? God knows how i miss my son.
I GOT A LETTER TODAY!!!!! I can't wait to go home and read it! (my fiance teased me with a phone picture of it) Funny thing is last night I had a dream about my brother, in the dream I was able to visit him at boot camp and I got to wave at him while he was standing in line waiting for something, I felt so much better in the morning and NOW I HAVE A LETTER!
AWESOME!!!!
Other than the "form" letter, I haven't received a letter from my son. Hope I get a nice surprise today when I get home as well!!
