For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

If you do not get that call by the time they do BattleStations, assume all is well and they are participating in BattleStations. Then just look forward to the I'm a Sailor call!

Good morning
Received a letter from my daughter yesterday regarding the upcoming schedule for DIV 196.

This Monday, Memorial Day, will be their last inspection *(OPSEC). This last letter I received is a complete turnaround compared to the first one I received. Can't wait to see her and meet other families. Anyone from Miami, FL?

*(BS date removed it is considered ship movement at RTC)

Substitute that you have the date for that division and ask others to friend request you for it if they want to. Then please click on the "x" in your original post box and delete your original post. And....I happen to live in your neck of the woods! Hot enough for you down here right now???? HAAA! I heard this morning that our humidity is at 91 percent today....so no WONDER if feels so hot. Been exercising and working outside since 6:45 this morning....Wheeew! HOT!

dwaynesmom: The SRs have until their BattleStations day to pass their PFA before having to call you. Since he is in 194, I do not believe he has had BattleStations yet. But go on the no news is good news at this point! I know it is hard when travel plans are happening...hoping that all is on track for him and you get that wonderful I'm a Sailor call in a few days!

Think Captains Cup should be going on starting in a few minutes for this PIR group. Fun athletic competition for all divisions!

Hopefully you will get a call later today. If anyone got that other call, they cannot call again until they pass BattleStations normally (which won't happen until they pass the final PFA).
