~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

*Buckley, not Buckely!

Just know that the gift baskets for Sarge's MeetandGreet are not required.  Just a suggestion to help Sarge/wife recoup some of their costs for putting on the MeetandGreet.  He accepts cash donations too....but again, totally voluntary.  He loves doing this for you all so please do not feel pressure to donate if you can't.  Just go and enjoy the food and presentation!  He will give you lots of good info!

HINT:  For those driving to PIR, on Buckely (main drag to RTC), stay to the LEFT, car line to RTC will be on your right.  Bypass RTC....turn around right past it (near train station) and head back from the opposite way.  It is a quick and easy left turn into RTC that way!  Most do not realize this, and we have had feedback on this hint that it was one of the best given....but I have to admit, it is one of Sarge's hints!  :-)

diannep: You are probably right! I'm sure when I see him in person, he will look great! Like they say, the camera adds an extra 10 pounds!

For those wondering about the baskets...It was mentioned on FaceBook, that it would be nice if some people can bring a gift basket with either items from your home town, or Navy related, to donate to some raffles. The baskets will be raffled off, and the proceeds that are raised from the raffle will go to Sarge and his wife. We don't have room to bring anything extra like that, but I figure I can help by giving to the donation box AND by buying raffle tickets! Who knows, I might win.....someone has to, right, lol?!
