Yeah Singlelady found us!!! This is great 2 new moms in one week. I just sent you a friend request. I believe Charolette and I will be at Sarge's Meet & Greet. We are both driving in from Texas and should be there in time to attend.
Cool!! I am East Texas near Tyler. We will either attend the Meet the Srage at Flangans or Sundance, I would like to attend whatever one Brandi is going to attend. What a great boss you have!! Wish I was as lucky...LOL Mine just gave me 2 weeks off so that we had plenty of time to travel to and from and if we are lucky enough to get extra Liberty with our SR (Travis) we can spend it with him. I believe if you go in together you will all sit together. If you are driving a car on base you will need that parking permit or pass to get in..remember that. I heard there is a train station just outside the main gate so easy in and out afterwards. Have you found the US Navt Recruiting Command Facebook page? If not look it up, they will post pictures on there from time to time, but so far none of our SR ship or Div. You can also look me up on FB I am Charolette Steed Phillips.
i am tammy c. vallet...i'm on fb as well...so nice to know you are there ...do you know if we can bring family members to the meet and greet or is it for SR mom's and dad's only?
i have to say i'm kinda nervous about all this and i don't even know why!! yes, i have a great boss, i've worked for him and his wife for 21 years come july 1st...he get's 4 plane tickets per year at a huge discount and gave me one...only $375...round trip for me! awesome huh? i am truly blessed! me and my sis are staying at red carpet inn so we have free shuttle to and from PIR...
I hate to say this but flying from DFW to CHI was only $395.00 a person round trip, but we choice to drive cause I can drive for about the same as my ticket would cost. and we have other family there we would like to try and see on our way home, if possible. The Meet the Sarge is for everyone friends, family, spouse and such..everyone is welcomed to it. The only place you are limited on seating it at PIR.
thanks for letting me know...hope to see you there!
Wow!! that is cool!! but what does it say on it (cant read it clearly)??? and how do we get a shirt?? I know 21 days and I cant wait!! Come May 24 will be my last day at work then on May 30th WE are north bound to Chicago. I dont have to be back to work until June 11th!!!! Brandi, are you going to stop half way?? let me know maybe we can switch cell phone # so if we are enroute we can made stick together or watch out for the other along the way?? I would prefer to send my # through FB instead of putting it on here.
Yesterday we got 3 postcards and a letter. Travis said on this past monday they were going to do the Marlinspoke-RTC training. if you will google it you can see whats it about. looked to be an all day thing.....wet and windy all inside a building like they were on a ship.
OH COOL!! that means Travis and Ben DO know each other!! They are both working on the flag!! fun. I am staying at the Navy Lodge too - see you all at the Meet and Greet!
Travis is working on the Flag too?? He hadnt said a word.....he did design his schools yearbooks here at home. He is a wonderful drawer and artist, super creative with computer design and art. I am pressed, guess he was going to surprise me maybe?? He knows how I love surprises (NOT!!)
Travis wrote in his letter to my oldest son he is charge making sure the place is clean, cleaned and they get cleaning supllies and such from him. So Travis has a kind of in charge job.
what is Ben's last name?? ??
Trey says that this sketch gives an idea of what it looks like, "kinda, but better".
I told Trey weeks ago to order the division shirts for me and his sister. If Travis doesn't get you one, then you can order them through Posiedon Sportswear (I think is the name). http://www.mwrgl.com/gen_info/rtc_graduation/div_tshirt_order_6_201... I think I'll order a small one soon and make a pillow out of it for him. I got the idea from another mom and love it!
C~ I don't know about Travis working on the flag. Trey didn't say anything. I think exchanging #s is a great idea. We might be going through DFW. Haven't mapped out the route yet.
I am so confused...LOL
I will be headed north up to Sulphur Springs, Tx to I30 then heading to Texarkan tooward Little Rock on the Memphis then up I think 57 toward Chicago. I am not going trhough St Louis.
We live about an hour or so south east from DFW area. Sulphur Springs is about an hour north of us and straight shoot to the Interstate. Travis and I went to Nashville back in mid-March to see Keith Urban at the Grand Ole Opry. It was on his to-do list before leaving. so the roads are good and posted speed was 70 I believe. Gas was decent price for us. We did over 1400 miles on 3 tanks of gas, about 48 gallons total. Cheapest gas I bought was in Memphis at Sams for $3.47 it was 3.57-3.62 everywhere around there.
