N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Thanks for update on what's going on in your SR's world, mikesmom!

Got a call from my SR today, right after chow. They did small arms training, alot of marching, inspections and tests. The division is doing real well but he said they do ALOT of IT because they talk alot. But he says it's still fun. Hardly getting any sleep. Also said that Div. 203 was calling home today as well. I hope everyone got a call today!! He really is enjoying getting letters. Keep writing moms, they love it!! So good to hear his voice too. Take care and have a good weekend everyone. Keep our recruits in prayer. They will be getting another peanut butter shot this week and on the same day they will go in the gas chamber. Wow. I can't imagine how hard that will be!! Just love our SR courage and determination and commitment.

sharonclips:  Some of the divisions started Training Week 5 yesterday, some will start Mon or Tues.  There are 6 training weeks, then BattleStations, then they are sailors.  There is a link on the PAGES section (to the right and up on this page, below MEMBERS box)....to show you what they are doing during these weeks.

Yes, they will be practicing for Graduation!

Comment by diannep on May 16, 2015 at 11:22am

Sharonclips:  Lately BattleStations have been starting on Thurs night, week before PIR.  None on Fri or Sat nights....ever....and lately... not Sun nights either....They resume on Mon nights and usually are done after Tues night's group, unless it is a large PIR group when they have to go longer  We cannot post specific division BattleStations dates on here or on FB, but we can private message them if you get one from your SR.  You can just post here that you have a BattleStations date for Div ___ and let others message you for it.

Good Morning!

tangled skeins:  That probably will be fine, but contact RTC Public Affairs and run that by them.  You can reach them on the CONTACT tab on the RTC website, or you probably have their email address in your form letter.  Easier to email them than to get through by phone.

For those worried about driving issues getting on base for PIR....there are other options:  Opt to take Sarge's shuttle (or use the local area shuttles....sign up for that one at the hotel front desk...same price as Sarge's, I believe....$3/pp each way).  Or, you can drive and park off-base at the train station(paid parking but not much) which is right past RTC.  About a 1/4-1/2 mile walk back to the gate, sidewalks.

I have a question regarding graduation day.  I have my driver's license and proof of insurance for my vehicle.  However, I simply have the Renewal Receipt of Registration for my vehicle.  Will that fulfill the requirement of vehicle registration? (We do not want to arrive at The Great Lakes Naval Training Center and NOT be allowed inside for PIR because we do not have the proper documentation.) Thanks in advance for your help with this!

Sharonclips,

Yep, it also depends on how many divisions are in a PIR group too.  It can be as little as 6 and as many as 13!!

Never mind I got my answer! Battle Stations begin 1 week before graduation on either a wednesday or thursday.right?
Comment by Sharonclips on May 15, 2015 at 11:56pm
Ok, so our guys left April 7th and PIR is June 5. So what week are they in now? What are they doing? When will they do Battle Stations! Do they practice graduation? How does all this work.
