~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi everyone! I am trying to connect with anyone who has a son/daughter/spouse who might be starting A-School in GL on our about 6/12....specifically anyone who would be going through the engineering courses. My son's new rate is GSE and there don't seem to be many. I am hoping that I will find someone on this page! Please let me know. Thanks! Also- Congratulations....you are almost to your PIR date!!!!
@mrsrds2012, Im planning on taking my SR's cell phone, so after PIR, when he's with us off-site of RTC in the short time he'll have, he can call/text friends/family. I believe I can also pass his cell phone onto him once at the airport as he's leaving for A-school, as well as some undies. He's not indicated what else he'd like, but I'm hoping he will tell me when I get his call on Friday so I can bring to him. I'm not crying, as I'm more excited and thrilled to see him on grad day. However, I'll be crying when I see him at PIR, and when I see him off as he leaves for A-school, so for sure I'll need that waterproof mascara too :)
CatMom, thank you for the beautiful scripture passages you bring to us each day. Makes things more bearable.
zest mom- My SR requested his comfy jeans (the ones from "THE BOX", a tee shirt and plain unmarked sox, his phone and charger. I'm waiting to hear about the underwear. My son is quite a bit older than most and so I haven't had to deal with his underwear in quite awhile. Would rather not now either!!
Lala: Hope it made a beautiful memory! I know you loved having the "extras" there too!
Yes, mrsrds is correct. They really can't wear "civies" until they phase up in A School, so just bring a few up for them to take with them if they want to....you can ship the rest later when they are phased up!
Good Afternoon! I wasn't able to get on the site this morning....so good afternoon rather than good morning! :-)
zest mom: My husband's A School, he isn't allowed to wear civillian clothes for the first 4 weeks, and by that point we will be all moved into our house down in SC. But, I do plan on bringing him underwear - lots of it.
As for the crying? I cry watching tv commercials. I plan on bringing tissues, and wearing waterproof mascara and eyeliner.
Hello All!
"Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way
I should go, for to You I lift up my soul."
Psalm 143:8
Lala,
So glad you has such a special time with your daughter and the other Sailors! Wow, that is a humongous American flag!!
Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend and Memorial Day. It was our last weekend with our daughter before she heads to CA. We had a great time honoring our fallen hero's and spending time with our family. We also had two extra Sailors with us for the weekend from VA Beach and it was awesome to have them here. We all went to Atlanta yesterday to see the Braves vs Red Sox game, whoooo hooo GO Red Sox!!! There were lots of sailors, soldiers, marines and other military members and veterans there. We salute them and also thank them for their service to our country :)
