Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 213 and 214

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Is anyone from or near Lancaster Penna.?

Hi, we are just north of Pittsburgh. So, at least the same state!

Welcome bettyboop48: My son is ship 03/DIV 214. We're from Northern Calif. Make sure and join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) it's also a great site and you can read, post on both. There is a ton of information every day from the veteran moms especially. I don't think there has been a day yet that I haven't learned something new. Just click on Groups above and you'll see the link under All Groups. This is had been an amazing experience because of N4M's I don't know what I would do without them :-)

mrsbeanie: Thank you for the heads up on a possible phone call Wednesday, hopefully my husband will be here to take the call this time!

White Puppy waving

These are so cute Ellen!

How's everyone doing tonight :)  Just curious, what fun plans are you making for your recruit once they complete PIR graduation?  I believe we're going to do the whole touristy thing! Eat some famous Chicago Pizza and hotdogs, visit Wrigley Field (my hubby's choice!) catch a double decker trolley tour......And I just gotta see Lake Michigan since it's so close!

Hello proudmomtokyle!  From what I've heard and read our SR will be shipping out early saturday morning so I don't think we'll be able to do much with him!  Our oldest son and our daughter will be with us so we'll probably go to the Field Museum; we used to go there when they were small but they don't remember-they only saw the pictures in later years.  I wish our SR could go too, perhaps his orders will change and he will be shipped later on saturday.  He's going to sub school in CT so who knows!

My husband is going to Sub School in CT as well. I was wondering when they were going to fly out to A-School. I heard it could Sat or Sun, just based on my other friends in the Navy. I did book my flight till Sunday Evening just incase, if they do Ship out Sat Morn looks like I have alllll day Sunday there.

ProudMomToKyle: I hadn't even given that a thought! I've been so focused on making all of our reservations. I think I will ask him in a letter what he might like to do. For all I know he might just want a quiet day kicking back and relaxing and that would be fine with us :-)

Just heard from my SR! He sounds so good today!! Very upbeat!  He's not sure why they got to call today, but was told it may be a while before he gets to call again.  Says a lot of the guys are getting better healthwise now - thank goodness!! They just took their 1st academic test and came just short of earning the academic flag for their division! He was so proud of his group!  He's craving hot wings.........LOL and is looking forward to more training that's coming up in the next couple of weeks (I think it has something to do with shooting guns)  He just got his blue uniform with white stripes, and a white uniform, and a peacoat (which he says is so cool!)  AND he got his dixie cup hat :)  Kevsmom93, he is good buddies with your son, also with your son, Jennifer and Jessbibz and the SR that is the Guidon for the group, he is close to :)  Prayers that you all hear from your SR's very soon ........

My SR is Ship 03 USS Hopper Div 213.  36 days til PIR.  Everyday I cross my fingers and say a little prayer that he is doing well.. He passed his swim qualification.. YEAH!!! But he needs to improve his running 1.5 in just over 14mins.  I've already made my reservations for plane, hotel, and car.  I've received two phone calls from him so far not including the one when he first got there. Last Saturday (while I was at work  shhh  I took the call anyway) and the one before.  He lost his voice on Tuesday.  I'm worried about the "gas chamber" test.  I don't want anything to mess his chances up I know he's behaving but all these tests and examines?? I'd go crazy..I wish they would post more pictures.  I thought I saw him in one or two but everyone looks so similar that's its hard to tell.  It's a mother's hope that she will see her son.  I've received one letter last week.  He seems upbeat if tired.  I am so proud of my son.
