Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Definitely had a good day today, had my youngest son at the Navy recruiters to take a practice ASVAB test, an was just getting ready to walk to office depot while he did that an my SR called so I ran back into the recruiters office an sat down an we all got to talk to him, his voice was music to my ears he sounds good, apologized for not writing because he has been busy an tired, told me on the last test that they took for the ones that got a 5.0 they earned the 30 min call last week, my poor baby missed it by 1, he had a 4.9,..... Now I am praying for him an I know he will do well, but he hasn't passed his swim test back, I'm hopin this don't set him back....an I'm prayin for all of them on this upcoming week ( hell week ) that they all pass their inspections......now I get to go to bed one very happy proud mama......HOOYAH

Hell Week is Training Week 4, which is about Bootcamp Week 5.  They are up earlier, lots of inspections, very busy week, but they only have 2 weeks to go after this one before they are sailors!  :-)

Lala,

Glad you're back!  If you're planning any type of Meet & Greet in CA, could it be for the first week you are there?  (Not the 5th for me).  Have another Navy Mom friend coming down during the first week for Disneyland and hoping to meet her and you together!
