~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Lala, It feels like Christmas here too, but that's because the weather forecast is for rain tomorrow possibly turning to snow later on. :)
I feel like it's Christmas here, I finally have my new computer :)
The RTC has posted divisions for this PIR. There are seven divisions, so four guests will be allowed at PIR.
I will be starting division discussions within this group sometime in the next couple of days.
So glad we have a group! So excited to start sending my SR letters! Is this where we find people in the same DIV as our SR?
Happy Friday!!
"Commit to the Lord whatever you do,
and your plans will succeed."
Proverbs 16:3
You are welcome, Lydia/Kris. I have just emailed Navy Lodge to find out the best way for you all to book there if you do not have your own military ID. I know the reservation can be booked in your SR's name....but not sure if this should be done initially or can be done at check in. Will post when I hear back from them on the best way to book there. I don't think it is a big deal either way, and I still would advise everyone to book in your SR's name if you have no military ID yourself. But I know some have booked in their own name, and then changed it when they checked in.
Good Morning All !
Forgot to mention that you should call the hotels directly and ask for the Navy Graduation rate. Not sure if Navy Lodge offers that, but the others should. Compare that discount to any other discount you may have available to you, like AAA (which is what we used).
Welcome, Nadinejune!
Oh my, USNwife! That is alot to handle in one day! But you are a seasoned military wife so I know you will handle it beautifully!
Lydia: Consider booking on Southwest Airlines (www.southwest.com) No change fee if there is a delay in training for your SR, and 2 bags check for free. They fly into Milwaukee WI (45 min to GL) and also Chicago Midway (hour+ to GL depending on traffic).
Hotels to consider are:
Navy Lodge (book in SRs name unless you have military ID....)...mile from RTC, simple, but clean and friendly, good rates.
Springhill Suites, Courtyard Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Residence Inn....all close to each other (4-5 miles from RTC) and near Sarge's MeetandGreet held the night before PIR for all of you. We stayed at Residence and liked it; CatMom stayed at Holiday Inn and liked it; Lala and ellen stayed at Navy Lodge and liked it! Good feedback from others on here for the other 2 hotels too.
