~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

JHawk, no I have not received any letters from him yet. Still waiting for one at least. I will start to send him his letter I have. I am super Proud of him and all the recurits here.... Thank you for your services...it is appreciated it.
Diannep, was my mentor when my daughter was in boot camp in 2010. I would not have survived the boot camp experience without her. She did such a good job that I stuck around to help out as well. I have been helping ever since and love being here :)
Good Morning Ladies. Have not officially introduced myself on this site yet.
I am a member of the N4Moms veteran team (names listed up top) that is here to help you all through bootcamp! I am the "old timer" member of the team....both in age (HA!) and length of time on here! My son went to bootcamp in 2009, and has actually now been honorably discharged, back to civilian life!. I stay on N4Moms because I love helping on here!
Remember, we all check in here many times during the day, so please ask any questions you may have and we will try to get answers for you. Also, we will be adding info under PAGES (under the MEMBERS photo box up top) and eventually in a discussion forum during these weeks, so please be reading through it so you don't miss anything!
Good Morning!
Good morning everyone, another week down and closer to your PIR. I hope everyone receives letters very soon :) Just remember those first letters can be a little hard. They can be a little homesick in the beginning but it will get better as soon as they start receiving your letters. So write every day if you can. Those letters are like gold and they read the letters each night just before going to sleep. They are what helps them get through the next day. Sometimes there are sadly recruits who don't have anyone to write to them. So ask your recruit in your next letter if there is anyone not receiving mail that you can write some encouraging letters to. I know they would appreciate it :)
If you get a letter and they seem down try not to worry. I know that is hard but by the time you receive the letter several days have past since it was written and things may already be getting better. Try to keep your letters positive. It will be a lot easier on them if they think you are handling this okay. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and feel free to send me a friend request here if you like
Hi all! My SR left on the 17th like many of yours. I received the BOX on Tuesday, rolled up pants and all. No Form letter yet, but I hope that 6/14 is his PIR date.
I like the weather info on this site. Hopefully it warms up for all of our SR's.
LeeAnn - we received our sons box on Tuesday too, but no form letter yet. I am waiting patiently (although I almost cried tonight when it wasn't in the mail). Maybe tomorrow. :-)
Ronnies mom's info is correct :-)
Hello...I received the box last Friday and my form letter today and found out that my son is on Ship 3 Div 222. Woo hoo... I guess it is time to start planning for PIR! I just sent off the 8 letters that I have written to him so far since he has left! Who else has a son/daughter who is on the same ship and division?
RayaEdgar'smom, it says on my form letter that children ages 3 and older count toward the maximum number of guests. So I would think yes, he needs to be on the list to attend.
All I can say is come on June!!!
Hello Everyone!! Has everyone received their form letters? We received my sons box on Tuesday but still waiting on the form letter. Im so anxious to receive it and be able to get his address so I can start writing him.
Hello everyone, i just received my sons form letter and just found out that he is in
Ship 3/Div 222 as well. I am so proud of my baby....Yes time to make plans for the trip to PIR, June 14. Hope it does not change!!!! Super Excited....... I also have a question with regards to changing people on the list for PIR, my son put his little brother on the list, but he is only 7years old. Does he need to be on the list to attend PIR..
