Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hello to all ! My son is in ship 14div223 to . PIR Jun 14. I can't stop thinking about him on how he is doing ,if he's eating right or sleeping well.my husband was in the navy for 30 years , so I'm familiar with the military life but still hard to let go your son and the not knowing anything about him drives me crazy .so all I can do is pray.is comfort me to know that I'm not alone.

Hello everyone!! I'm so jazzed, I got my son's form letter today!! He is in Ship 3, Division 222. It's sooooo exciting to know his grad date, address, and all that good stuff. Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and hope to meet you guys soon!!

Hi everyone I am one of the volunteers here to help you through this experience J I hope you all are having a good week so far. I know how hard this is for so many of you. And as hard as it is to believe the boot camp time will pass pretty quickly. I was a mess when my daughter was there. I didn’t have much time to prepare as she was only in DEP one month and then she was gone. I was and am a worrier lol so I was always wondering what she was doing and how she was. But it all turned out great and it is so hard for me to believe it has been almost three years. Now she is a Sailor and is married to a Sailor and they are expecting their first baby and my first grand baby J I am still here helping others get through this experience and I love it. If you have any questions or concerns please just let us know and feel free to send me a friend request if you like. I am happy to help.
I always say the days drag by but the weeks pass quickly so, try to find something fun to do and stay busy. If you have little ones at home there are several things you can do to make this journey a little easier for the, Make a paper chain with a link for each day they have left in boot camp and let them remove one link each day. It will help them see that this is only temporary. Other have also put a quarter in a jar for every day left and each week allowed the child/children to use the money for an ice-cream cone or even for a special card to send to their recruit, gumballs or gummy bears in a jar work well too and they get a tiny little treat each day. So many things can make it a better experience for them. Welcome to your PIR group, we are happy to have you here J

jitterbug, I too am hoping that my son is a part of this graduation group. He left for BC on April 12th and I got my "kid in a box" on the 18th. His recruiter is the one that gave me his address, but I have read on here not to send anything until the form letter comes. So I am impatiently waiting! I have written 5 letters so far and I eagerly waiting to send them.

I am hoping that my son is part of this graduation group. He left for BC on April 16. We got is "kid in a box" last night. Just waiting on the letter. Seems like deja vu. My daughter left for BC on April 16th too, but that was April 16th of last year. She is now stationed in Norfolk attached to a helicopter squadron.
Hopefully, the letter will be in the mail today. I already have my first one to send to him. Just curious - did you each find out via a letter from your loved ones or did you contact their recruiter?
