~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hey Deedee You have been in my thoughts and prayers as well.Since wew are in a very similar situation. My sailor recieved his medical clearance but is still waiting for his waive for s situation very close to your son's. He's been there since Aprill 16th. So that is hope for me that my son's issue will be resolved soon. He is waiting patiently.
Deedee F - I'm SO GLAD TO HEAR THIS!!.. I have been praying every night for your son to be allowed to move ahead. Congrats to him, and I wish him much luck in "A" school.
Hi Moms. I went through "the box" today, since the first (and only) time I went throught it weeks ago. I had my sailor on the phone at the time, just to ask her if there was anything in there that she wanted me to send to her. She just asked for her DEP shirt and the journal we gave her at her going away party. It's going to be strange not seeing that box in the corner of my bedroom, but it's such a wonderful feeling that the bootcamp experience is behind us, and she's really loving A School at GL, and making new friends. The ladies on this site have been a blessing, through the tough times and the joy. Prayers to all our sailors for strength and happiness, and that they can feel the pride we have for them.
Good morning All, we are home. There are no words to express the gratefulness for this website. To have the heads up and be so prepared put a lot of anxiety aside. My Sailor laughed when I pulled out the white towel :). The pride that welled up when the band played, the parade of flags and finally our new Sailors is indescribable. The few hrs we spent with him were precious, we did a lot of catching up and even took a nap. The way home was a little rough. We got hammered with rain, warnings of t-storms, tornadoes and floods, oh my. Believe it or not I was happy to see tumbleweeds. Thank you to all the ladies for the support, the advise and the listening ears. Sarge and his drivers were awesome and I highly recommend for new Navy families to connect with him when their time comes for PIR. Our sailor is now in Pensacola and loving it. Its great to be able to talk to him a little more often. May God bless you, your families and our Sailors.
Good Evening All....We just got home after PIR. We extended our stay to also have a family vacation since we were so close to Chicago. PIR was AMAZING and the time spent with my sailor was incredible! It was definitely an experience of a lifetime! There are no words to adequately express the support, encouragement, guidance, advice from the veteran moms and others on this site. Our trip was perfect and I was beyond prepared. I couldn't have had a better experience which made our time with our sailor so enjoyable and we could focus on celebrating and being together as a family. We met so many other sailors and some other families. All incredible people. We have a lot to be proud of thankful for! Thanks again ladies. You all are incredible and have greatly blessed this Navy family!
Thanks everyone.
We had such a nice time being with our sailor after PIR. It was so hard to say good bye only a few hours later. He called yesterday from "A" school and seems very happy.
Thank you to everyone on this site. The veteran moms have been such a big help and a wealth of knowledge.
Deedee and Mari - Thinking of you and your Sailors. I hope today brings them good news.
