N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I went through this last year with my daughter and now I can't wait to do it again for my son.  When the doors open up and those columns of sailors dressed in their whites start marching through, it is more than you take.  I think I cried from that moment until I had my arms around her.  It truly is so exciting and moving.  I cannot wait until I see him march through those doors and get my arms around him!!!

Lori  and willsmom -

I packed some tissues, but now that I think of it...I'll pack some more!!  I'm a crier under normal circumstances.  This is definitely going to put me way over the edge!

FLA NavyMom1501..

kleenex! At church yesterday we sang a song that my son really likes and just thinking about how close we are to graduation made me cry like a baby. It is going to be emotional to watch our recruits march through that doorway!!!

Make sure you have all of your IDs in order!  Also, any items your SR may have requested...

I heard from my son yesterday.  He is in div 227.  If anyone wants to know what day Battle Stations is for that division, please private message me.  His division got a phone call yesterday afternoon.  I was shocked, but so happy that I had my cell phone with me.  He told me that Captain's Cup was not mandatory participation.  I was not aware of that..  He said that it was the only flag that his division didn't get yet.  Full speed ahead 227!!

Comment by jitterbug61 on June 3, 2013 at 9:02am

My son is in Division 227 and he gave me the date for BS.  Send me a message and I will let you know what I know.
