N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY and good morning everyone.

We'll be presenting a Memorial Day Ceremony at the Douglas Munro U.S. Coast Guard Monument in our town, then off to patrol the local waterways.  Have a great day!

Also, Holiday Inn Express in Waukegan is in the same vicinity as the hotels that Diannep mentioned and it has a hot serve yourself breakfast!

vysc3: If you want a hotel near Sarge's MeetandGreet, here are some:

Courtyard Inn Waukegan/Gurnee

Springhill Suites Waukegan/Gurnee

Residence Inn Waukegan/Gurnee

They all have shuttle service or you could use Sarge's shuttle service.

I stayed at the Navy Lodge a year ago and it was very nice, it has now gone through remodeling so even better, The staff there is great and the bag breakfast is the best for taking with you to PIR. The Navy lodge is also very close to the RTC, just a little over a mile or a right turn, right turn, left turn, right turn, right turn and another to the gate right turn...LOL. It actually is in the Navy Family Housing, but not gated, and in the evening you can hear TAPS from the base. Sarge can also help if you don't want to drive, but it is easy from the NL.

BUT I went to the M & G at the Ramada...it was the only one there was two years ago :-).

Sarge also has taxi service (for a modest fee) from the Lodge for the Meet and Greet.
The Lodge is the closest to RTC.
I only favor it because I stayed there. :-)
I thought it was quiet and clean. It is located within one of the Housing areas for Naval Station Great Lakes.

OK help. We made our reservations at the Ramada Inn because we thought Sarge's M & G was there. Being that we are from the boondocks we want to drive as little as possible. So now either way at the Ramada or the Navy Lodge we have to drive. At the Lodge we could get the breakfast in a bag and the shuttle w/sarge. Any opinions?
