Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

VYSC3     -  This IS a great website.  Everything you need to know, these ladies can help you.   Try forwarding you home phone calls to your cell phone.  That way you won't miss any calls from your SR on your way up to GL.

Welcome vvsc3! Yes, Dress Whites is correct!

Make sure to ask ANY questions here for the Veteran moms and get to know the Members of the Whole TG on the Main Wall!

Also, you have a Division Discussion up above in the Discussion Forum to get to know some of the other Members specifically in your SR's Division. Just look up above in the DIscussion Forum.

The PAGES section has a lot of great info for you as well. PAGES is located just underneath the MEMBERS Profile Pictures here in the Middle Column of the Main Wall of the PIR group. I'll give you the direct link to the "View All" feature so you can go directly there:

OMG!! I just found this group. I have gone back almost to the beginning and read all the comments. I have learned so much - insurance, coin, emotions, training, PIR list and I really like the scriptures. My son is in ship 12 Div 228 and PIR is 6/14 :) I am ordering his coin today and hope it gets here on time. We are driving from NM and leaving on the 11th. I'm a little sad cause I miss him and I just want to hear his voice, but I'm getting excited about leaving and seeing him in his dress whites. Is that correct?

JANAISMOM  -  So glad everything is working out for you and for your SR.

Have a safe journey from Sacramento.  We're driving up from Florida.  We'll probably arrive on Wed. the 12th if all goes well.

Comment by Janai'sMom on May 25, 2013 at 4:16pm

Thanks for all the nice comments moms.  It sure feels good to be back in a PIR group again.  Janai is on Ship 3, Division 221.  Reservations already made-flying in on Wed. the 12th from Sacramento, and starting the countdown!  Yay!

Comment by mam4real on May 25, 2013 at 2:51pm

janaismom - I am so thrilled for you! This has been hard enough, cant imagine adding on an injury and extending the time. Glad she stuck in there.

janaismom:  What division is your daughter in?

Comment by Queenbeansj on May 25, 2013 at 12:12pm

janaismom.:  So excited and happy that your girl is on her way to PIR again. It must have been so difficult for you wondering what was going to happen with her.  Great news!  We will continue to keep her in our thoughts and prayers that she continues to heal and excel.
