DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

ASMO - Assignment Memorandum - to be sent back in recruit training. RDC's frequently threaten their Division with being ASMO'd. Recruits do get ASMO'd for disciplinary or medical, or because a recruit has not passed a test.
I have a question for the group. What does ASMO mean? I'm a member of a PIR June 14 Facebook group and recruit's girlfriend said that when he called he said that their RDC didn't believe in IT so when the division messed up he would yell or ASMO them...then she goes on to casually say that her boyfriend said that all 4 of the Section Leaders had been ASMO'd. Well, my son is one of those section leaders she was talking about! I talked to my son for about 30 minutes on Saturday and he was doing great, had passed everything, etc. So, what does ASMO mean?
Good Morning All !
I'm glad we have ALL of us!! My son is even older than your son, and he spent his college years 1100 miles away from home.
I still cried yesterday after the phone call. My husband couldn't understand why I was sad. I just feel helpless, I guess. But, you are so right about having everyone here and this website. What a difference it makes having people who all understand what you're going through.
I hope everybody has a good day. Keep busy - it helps.
@auhi00,
I'm glad I have you too. For the last three weeks I was going crazy and this blog was my only way to vent. All have helped me with your compassionate responses. My son is the opposite, he is only 18 and no life experiences. The separation with no contact was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I have been through a roller coaster of emotions this past three weeks and I sure I will again. But like I said. Thank you all for being there for me too. You are all a GOD send!
Thank you , Thank you to all the mom's here. You are really helping me through this. I really didn't think it was going to be this bad. I'm a Navy vet so I've been through it . I thought I knew what to expect. My SR is a little older 21 and had some life experience. With all this I thought I had this. But being a mom is a job that never ends. This site and you guys are just awesome. I'm glad I have you.
Hey all,
I've been real busy writing the stories on each "ship" (barrack) at Great Lakes and to give the future sailors on my website some info on these barracks once they come back from boot camp.....
I posted them up in the discussion area. Hope you enjoy it...
QUARTERDECK revisited - LOL!
Here is a link to a great Discussion that Craig posted some time back (includes pictures). Craig is retired Navy and runs the NavyDEP.com website where he helps DEPpers before BC. AntiM (also retired Navy)and he have a discussion within it :-)
And of course at the end is his usual humor.
Funny story...I did not know this discussion existed before I went to Chicago...and I took a pic and video of the toilets at O'Hare as well! Warped minds think alike, LOL!!
The video did not get approved for the site :-( Too bad, as it is pretty funny to see the cover on the toilet spin by after you flush!
Here's the link:
Wanted - Looking for some answers
It's actually named that as Craig was asking questions about certain things he did not have answers too for the Ships.
Deedee: I had this happen with my son, and ellen is correct. I contacted the PAO, gave them his original PIR date and password and they gave me the new one. 847 688 2405
DeeDee, Yes, the password will be different. If you call the PAO and tell them your situation, they should be able to help you with the password. You will have to give them info on your SR and probably the original password, but they usually can help you.
If his wife is the one that got the original form letter she will probably be the one that needs to call.
