~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I was having an ok day until a little while ago. I walked to the mailbox hoping to receive my first letter from my SR. Unfortunately, once again, there wasn't a letter from him. We received the official "letter" last week. I was so sure today would be the day. I would just like to receive a letter from him telling me how he's doing. It doesn't matter to me whether it's a good letter or a bad letter, I would just like to hear from him.
Today is the first time I've made a roast chicken since he left. It's his favorite meal. Why am I crying...?
I know you guys all understand. That's why I'm writing. Sorry for being such a big baby. I'm just worried about him...
Thanks Evan'sMom and the rest of the group for the info on Ship 9/Div226, my SR is on that one. It probably seems worse to me, than in reality. We always worry, I guess that never changes. Count down to PIR 6/14. Keeping the faith they will catch up. I wonder what they were doing all this time, but I guess they were kept pretty busy. :-)
I should add that if they find any other teeth issues that can wait, they will be an "appointment" after BC to go to the dentist to have them taken care of.
Having wisdom teeth out during BC is very very common. The Navy looks at their wisdom teeth and if there is anything at all that they may cause an issue in the future they pull them out. I know it is tough as a mom or loved one to not be able to help them, but rest assured they will be taken care of.
When my son had his out (three of them, never had a fourth) there were 28 others (yes 28) in his division and brother division that also had them out, so your SR will not be alone in this. :) Generally they are removed on a Thursday (I think) and will be given the Fri-Sun as SIQ, which will not set them back in training, They are given pain killers and specific instructions on what to do while they heal, and are told if there is any indication of a problem they must seek out medical.
From my son after his were removed. "Having them out sucked, but the pills were good." LOL. He hates taking medicine of any kind. Your SR will be just fine. :)
jitterbug: If they moved, they will be forwarding the letters there. But you may want to call the Public Affairs Office and confirm the new address.

ellen0502...thanks so much for creating the discussion brother division groups! I just joined & it helps to break it down even more to connect with moms that our SR are in the same division. You & the other veteran moms are truly helping this mama & I know all the others in a BIG way to help us through this process. God Bless You All!!!!
you should join the Ship 14 Div 223 and 224 discussion forum listed above. They have started these discussion forums for the brother divisions...very cool.
I wish there were more in the 09/227-228 group!! I think there are only 3 of us!!
