N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hi Deedee F. -   So happy to hear everything worked out for your son.  It is heart wrenching when things like that happen to our children.  Hope to meet you at PIR.

To willsmom -    I don't think you have to sign up.  I was flipping around on the various websites and saw that someone else from our division had RSVP at the top right corner of the screen for Sarge's Meet and Greet.  That's why I RSVP also.

Glad to see you here, Deedee!

willsmom:  Sarge has to plan for the food at the MeetandGreet, so he appreciates people RSVPing.  It is free to you all, but he accepts donations there since he/wife do this out of pocket each week.  If someone forgets to RSVP, that's fine.  They should still go, but it helps him with planning the amount of food.

FLA NavyMom1501 - do we actually have to sign-up for Sarge's Meet n Greet?

Hi auhi00 -

My son is also in ship 02 div 931.  Are you planning on attending the PIR?

If you are, you might want to sign up for the "Sarge's Meet and Greet"  on June 13?

We just checked the mail, and there was nothing there from my son.  Very disappointing.  But, I keep writing and sending cards.

Hi everyone! I just found this and just got approved as a member . Yea! My son is in ship 02 div 931.

I'm not as nervous about this because I'm a Navy vet. I remember bootcamp although it has change a bit since my time.

Got my I'm here call and the info letter. Now I'm just on a letter writing campaign for him.

Hello Shewolf123,  I am the same as you, ship and division. I only have received the one phone call on Saturday, however he told me he was going to be able to call every two weeks. Sent phone numbers in the latest letter to him because on Saturday's call he said he could only remember the house phone number all other phone numbers are in his cell, which he does not have. Feel lucy I at least got one phone call. Waiting for the next form of communication.

Oh, and Sarge's has very good food we hear!  He orders from restaurants in the area.  It is free to you all, but he will accept any donations you care to give when you are there. He and his wife pay out of pocket for this each week. The MeetandGreets are kid friendly too....so bring the entire family!
