For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Well I am on here this morning but only because I am using my hubby's laptop. Yesterday I went to Navy for Dads site and then something happened on my computer and it said my computer could not access that site. Then I went to Navy for Moms and got the same message. It says Unable to access the Network, then something about my firewall. But I can access all other websites with no problem at all. I have tried turning off the computer and it still doesn't work. I sent a message to my Sailor and her Hubby/Sailor. He is an IT so maybe he has an idea how to fix it. uggggg

Now I am off to take my Mom to the doctor and then shopping for fabric :-) Be back this afternoon.

Comment by diannep on June 7, 2012 at 8:38am: sharon: They will usually call you if they haven't passed by BattleStations day. They will tell you not to come, not graduating (scripted call...Navy personnel present)....but don't cancel plans, as Lala said! They have more tries to pass PFA before PIR. Most will do this and be at PIR. They are put in the FIT group to pass if they don't make it before their BattleStations date. Then they do BattleStations with whatever group is going and would be at PIR.

If they don't pass before PIR, they are held in FIT until they do pass. Then they do BattleStations and head straight to A School....no PIR. They get to test M-W-F while in FIT.

You can expect I'm a Sailor calls to possibly start coming in today as early as 2 pm GL time...have phones "in the bras" so as not to miss these wonderful calls! With 4 divisions (177-180) going last night, it will take a while for all calls to get through. Plus...some will have watch and not get to call today :-(.

Please ask your new sailor if all in the division passed and post that for those who may not get calls today.

HOOYAH! Their capping ceremony could be going on right now...or almost starting! Trading that RECRUIT ball cap for their NAVY ball cap. RTC FB would sometimes post piks of some of these ceremonies in the past. Usually for the trivia contest winners, but not sure they have that anymore? Anyway, a very emotional and special time for these new sailors!

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on June 7, 2012 at 6:16am: Sorry I wasn’t on much either…again! I am trying to get the next PIR group started so my focus shifts a bit during this time…and well…it’s the Stanley Cup Finals!

Hubby worked Monday night so we taped it and watched last night…and Game 4 was tonight. BUMMER… the Kings lost…but they are up 3-1! Woo-Hoo! Has been a great Finals so far! My hubby used to play Hockey (which is funny for a Glendale kid! I mean Hockey was around but not a So Cal thing! He also played some as an adult.), and got me hooked when The Great One (Wayne Gretzky) came to LA! So I have been glued to the TV with him…and I will be Saturday night too for Game 5!

I am catching up!

Sorry I haven't been on here tonight. Can log in to this site from my computer for some reason so I am having to use my phone. It's weird this is the only sure I am having a problem with. Hopefully it will work tomorrow. Good night all.
