Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by ellen0502 on June 1, 2012 at 10:16pm: I talked to my son today, he is at GL for A School, he told me he and four others were voluntold for something tomorrow at 6:15am. He needs to wear his PT gear and bring an extra set because he will be getting wet. He has no clue what it is.

I just happen to like the word voluntold. Volunteered for service, now voluntold what to do.

I am going to start using it!

Comment by MariaR670 on June 1, 2012 at 8:55pm: Hi, I just got a letter from my son in DIV 178. I am so excited to see him soon, he will become a Sailor on June 15 and can't wait. He will only be allowed to visit with us for 6 hrs as he will be shipped out to Nuke school the next day. I have received several letters but only 1 call on his 3rd week (the best Mother's day present ever!!!) He just finished shooting exam & was wondering what is next. We are really proud of him!!!

Comment by nat4thom(SHIP12-Div 186) on June 1, 2012 at 6:49pm: We had phone calls from our son yesterday (Ship 12 Div 186) Seems they are amazing (!) and earned some special time to eat fast food and make phone calls. He sounded good, and very excited about heading out to nuke school. This week is Battlestations. I'm so nervous about the gas chamber. Maybe it was today? I'd like to think it's over.

Comment by sharon-(Ship7div183) on June 1, 2012 at 5:51pm: Got a 12 minute call on Tuesday and a letter today.Usually get letters on Wed. must have been delayed because of the holiday. She is looking forward to firefighting and did good with shotgun, not so good with pistol. Will be glad when gas chamber is done. She has been good about writing every week, so I know I will at least get one letter of updates. Just wants her own underwear and a pop!
